Shi Tian was still being optimistic. In less than half an hour, Uncle Zhong arrived. He had switched to a Wuling Hongguang, the standard version for fishermen, which was fast and fuel-efficient, perfect for going up mountains and down rivers.
As soon as the rear door opened, he placed the Fishing Box between the two old men. Hadn't they just enthusiastically invited him to fish together? Now he had found some real company!
"Hey there, I'm here!" His hands itched to get started, so he came over to cast a couple of lines. He loved chatting with them and decided to sit right there, making it easier to talk and help them net any big catches.
Uncle Zhong glanced at the two old men, who exchanged looks before he quickly stood up to block their view. "Just sit next to me! I have plenty of fish over here! There are big ones!" Liu Yi generously invited Uncle Zhong to sit down.
It was getting late, and they hadn't had dinner yet. They could fish for a little longer before heading out to eat. Having more people around to chat was always nice. If they managed to catch a big fish, it would give them something to brag about.
With Liu Yi's approval, Uncle Zhong hurried off to grab his Rod. He brought over all his gear, and Shi Tian couldn't help but feel his eyelids twitching; this uncle seemed ready to set up camp right there!
With a Mi San Rod in hand, he cast right into Liu Yi's fishing spot. The luminous float was set, and he took out the bait he had prepared earlier from the Fishing Box.
With the bait hooked and the rod cast out using a Chaotian Hook, it was clear that this was an experienced Fishing Master at work. Liu Yi would probably be feeling frustrated soon!
It was only fair that the two old men faced some setbacks; everyone grew through such experiences. If one flaunted their catches in front of a seasoned fisherman, they were practically inviting them to take over their Fishing Spot!
Last night on the plane, Shi Tian had only managed two hours of sleep before Kang Ziyu came to tell him it was time for bed. This was just as well; it meant he wouldn't have to watch the two old men make a scene.
As he packed up his things, Uncle Zhong suddenly hooked a fish.
Judging by how bent the Rod was, as long as it wasn't a soft tip, this fish wouldn't be small!
From Northeast China to Hainan, wherever there was excitement, there were always people gathering to watch.
Abroad, upon hearing any commotion, the first instinct was to run home. But in China, no matter when it was, if there was any noise outside, people would flock to windowsills or rooftops—any place where they could stand—to see what was happening.
The number of onlookers would fluctuate based on the size and duration of the excitement. Even if someone were waving a kitchen knife in the street, the first thought would be to quickly pull out their phone and post about it on social media.
If someone caught a fish, that was even more reason for everyone to stick around until they could see its size before leaving.
With the Fishing Box set down, Shi Tian fiddled with a spool of line in his hands while pretending to busy himself with his gear. He rolled up some line and put it back into the Fishing Box before pulling it out again slowly.
His eyes were locked onto the focal point of action! He couldn't stare too obviously; that would be rude. With his pupils focused and head bobbing slightly, he watched as Uncle Zhong maneuvered the rod while reeling in the fish. He prepared himself for an "oh" moment—he needed to shout at just the right time when the fish made its move; that was called timing!
Suddenly, his hand slipped and brushed against an improperly secured Jig box, making contact with a treble hook.
Fortunately, it wasn't during a fight with a fish; it was just clumsy fumbling. The hook snagged into his skin before his brain registered what happened, causing his right hand to instinctively jerk back.
"Shi Tian!" he shouted. The fish hadn't escaped, but he startled Uncle Zhong instead!
What happened? Not only was Shi Tian watching the excitement, but Kang Ziyu was also curious. "What's going on?" Shi Tianyi shouted, and Kang Ziyu immediately came over to take a look.
