The group was just created, and there were only four people in it. Besides the Unreliable Duo, there was also Earthworm Brother.
"Sure! Add me in! Once the group gets more members, you can bring Taiwanese Fishing to play with Lure, and I'll bring Lure to play with Sea Fishing. It’s bound to be promising!" Shi Tian casually remarked as he cast his rod.
"You mean the financial prospects, right? But for Lure, we still need to search well; many places don't allow Lure fishing anymore." Upon hearing Shi Tian's approach, Da Gui Wang chuckled.
Regarding Da Gui Wang's mention of places not allowing Lure fishing, Shi Tian had no solution. They had just arrived and were unfamiliar with the area, so acquiring Lure resources would certainly be challenging. However, that was fine; once there were more customers in the shop, they would surely gather some information.
But mentioning Lure made Shi Tian a bit restless. If Lure fishing wasn't allowed, then he would have to find a workaround.
He dropped some Bait into the water and pulled up a few Bai Tiao first. Grabbing a short Iso Rod and changing the line, he hooked a Bai Tiao onto it and used the Iso Rod as a Lure Rod, treating the Bai Tiao as a Jig. Surely that wouldn’t violate any rules!
With a cast of his Rod, he let the Bai Tiao sink slowly before reeling it in bit by bit, searching in a fan-like pattern. His Customized Rod allowed him to feel even the slightest nibble.
The only regret was that he hadn’t changed the Wheel; it was still a Spinning Reel. Even so, Shi Tian felt quite satisfied.
After more than half an hour of fishing, he had switched out several Bai Tiao but hadn’t caught anything. It seemed that using Bai Tiao as a Jig wasn’t very effective after all.
"Hey guys, any bites?" Just as Shi Tian cast out his last Bai Tiao, an off-road vehicle pulled up outside the shop. A man in his thirties got out and came over to greet them.
"Not bad; I’ve already cut two leaders. Now I’ve switched to this Line Setup—hopefully it won’t cut again!" Da Gui Wang blurted out.
"Believe your nonsense! Last week someone poisoned this area; don’t even talk about cutting lines—if you catch a few Bai Tiao, consider yourselves lucky!" The older man handed Da Gui Wang a cigarette and bluntly exposed his claims.
"Poisoned? Is it really that serious around Taihu? If it’s net fishing, that’s one thing; electric fishing might just incur a fine of several thousand yuan. But with poison fish? That could land you in serious trouble!"
"Has anyone been caught for poisoning?" The older man’s question left everyone stunned. In this day and age, did anyone really dare to do such things? And especially right on the edge of the city—was it really worth it for just a few fish?
"How could they catch anyone? With so much traffic and people around, they just toss their stuff in when it gets dark and come back after a few hours to scoop them up. They drive away; who could catch them?"
The older man clearly was a Fisherman; he spoke about poisoning with clenched teeth and visible agitation.
Fishermen despise Electricians, Net Workers, and Western Poisoners—the latter definitely ranked higher on their list of enemies than the former two.
"They’ve installed cameras here now; if anyone dares to poison again, we’ll send them straight to jail!" Shi Tian casually remarked while reeling in his line.
The news about the cameras needed to spread; if they pointed them out after catching someone, it would be too late. It would be best if those Western Poisoners knew beforehand that there were cameras here so they wouldn’t dare come back to poison the waters.
As soon as he finished speaking, his Hook reached shallow water when suddenly there was a splash—a jolt ran through Shi Tian’s hand holding the Rod.
He lifted the Rod quickly and began reeling in; this fish felt substantial. He wondered if he could finally give that older man a surprise!
