Shi Tian wanted to follow along to watch the livestream, but Liu Lei didn't want to take him. Last time, Shi Tian had made a fool of himself on camera with that Mantis Shrimp incident, and he had been teased for months. Bringing him along again? That was just asking for trouble!
"I'm right across the street. Go grab the rod! I'll wait for you!" Liu Lei pushed Shi Tian into the Fishing Tackle Shop, casually closed the door behind him, locked it, and hurriedly got into his car to make a quick getaway.
"Quick! Drive fast, don’t let Shi Tian catch up!" he instructed as he shut the car door. "Head to Xiao Donghai! If Shi Tian follows, it’s bound to end badly!"
As Liu Lei's car disappeared from view in front of the shop, Shi Tian cursed him under his breath. When did this guy become such a jerk? If he had acted like this earlier, would Old Gao have taken advantage of him?
The back door opened, and Shi Tian circled around to the front. He needed to open the shop door first. Liu Lei was being a real pain; it felt like he was trying to force him into closing up shop!
He set up an umbrella and sat down at the entrance with his rod. It had been a while since he fished here; might as well enjoy some time outdoors! He still needed a few more pieces of equipment, maybe get a tripod and connect to Didi Fishing Service. Who knows? Liu Lei might just come up with something interesting during his stream!
Didi Fishing Service had different levels based on fish caught; the more fish you caught and the bigger they were, the higher your level. Depending on your level, you could set your Fishing Expenses within a floating range—the higher your level, the larger the range.
Since this was just the beginning stage, Shi Tian couldn't set a high price. He decided on Ten Dollars an hour and planned to fish for three hours in the morning to see if he could get any orders.
Meanwhile, at Xiao Donghai, confirming that Shi Tian hadn’t followed him, Liu Lei quickly set up his equipment and started streaming.
"Hey everyone! Recently, there's been an interesting social media platform called Didi Fishing Service—it's our own social media for fishermen! It's somewhat similar to ride-sharing apps; let’s have some fun with it."
"Today there won't be any giveaways, but if you want fish, you can place orders on Didi Fishing Service. Just search for my nickname; it's the same as my Booth nickname."
"This service does charge fees based on the Fishing Master’s level; prices vary from Ten Dollars per hour or so. Any fish caught during your order time are yours."
"As for the Fishing Expenses collected, they will be donated to charity before shipping out your order. A donation receipt will be printed and sent along with your package—feel free to supervise!"
Liu Lei played it smart by saying there wouldn't be any giveaways today without ruling out future ones. He planned to try out fishing for two days first; if it worked well, he'd continue; if not, he'd stick to his usual routine.
Donating in someone else's name felt wasteful; it was better done in his own name. This wasn’t just about reputation—donations could reduce taxes by a certain percentage, up to thirty percent at most.
After introducing Didi Fishing Service and setting up his gear, orders started rolling in.
He and Shi Tian had similar ideas—setting their minimum price at Ten Dollars per hour since that money wouldn’t go into their pockets anyway. Starting low would attract bids once they caught some fish.
"Lei Zi! An order just came in—a Ten Dollar big order! Get ready to fish and make some money!" As soon as Liu Lei heard the notification sound on his phone, he was left speechless. What kind of ridiculous notification sound was that? Was Ten Dollars really considered a big order?
And what was up with that Lei Zi? His nickname was Professional Angler Brother Lei—why did this silly social media change it?
This platform was really annoying! Not smart enough! After muttering complaints at the camera, Liu Lei reached for his phone to accept the order.
"Don’t threaten me! If something happens, just smash your phone; I’ll make sure we both go down together!" As soon as he heard that notification sound again, Liu Lei froze—it turned out this thing was voice-controlled too!
Booth's popularity has indeed increased significantly, thanks to Liu Lei setting Social Media to a humorous mode last night.
