Cong Jiang swiftly extended his arms, steadying the swaying Wen Hui, fearing she might fall at any moment. Gritting his teeth, he spoke with a dark expression, "Alright, for the sake of our past friendship, I will reluctantly believe what you say this time. However, if I let you leave Min now and sever all ties with this royal residence, will you agree to it?" 0

Upon hearing this, Wen Hui seemed to grasp a lifeline and hurriedly nodded in response, "Of course! That despicable traitor Min not only cruelly murdered Yuan Gang Master and his wife but also deceived me, keeping me in the dark all this time. Now that he has finally been imprisoned by Hong Taiji for his heinous crimes, it is well-deserved. I harbor nothing but resentment towards him; I wish I could tear him apart and scatter his ashes! Therefore, I do not wish to stay in this royal residence for even a moment longer. Brother Jiang, please take me away from here quickly!" 0

Cong Jiang nodded slightly and said solemnly, "Good, there is no time to waste; we must leave now. I have already arranged everything; Rong'er is waiting for us not far from the woods outside the royal residence! As long as we can meet her safely, we can escape together and leave this place of turmoil behind." With that, he took Wen Hui's hand and they pushed open the door to leave. 0

Suddenly, dozens of soldiers surged out from both sides of the loft. The leading soldier brandished a spear and lunged towards Cong Jiang's head. Cong Jiang ducked just in time. Wen Hui's face turned pale with terror as she shrieked, "What are you doing? You can't act recklessly!" The leading soldier responded coldly and authoritatively to Wen Hui, "The Great Khan has ordered that no one is allowed to enter or exit this royal residence at will. Those who defy this order will be killed without mercy!" 0

It turned out that Hong Taiji had learned that Yuan Yueming was aware of his true identity. This news made him anxious, fearing that Yuan Yueming and Lin Ning would pose a significant threat to Later Jin. Thus, Hong Taiji decisively dispatched numerous soldiers to ambush within Min's residence, waiting for the two to fall into their trap. However, contrary to everyone's expectations, what awaited them was not Yuan Yueming and Lin Ning but Cong Jiang. 0

Facing the swarm of soldiers surrounding them like a tide, the skilled Cong Jiang showed no fear. But Wen Hui was different; she was defenseless and knew nothing of martial arts techniques. Protecting her while fighting their way out seemed nearly impossible. 0

Cong Jiang wielded his large blade with great force, injuring several approaching soldiers in an instant. Just then, a soldier armed with a spear charged from his left side and thrust it towards Wen Hui with lightning speed. Cong Jiang's expression changed dramatically; in a panic to save her, he attempted to turn back with his blade drawn. Unfortunately, several fierce soldiers had tightly entangled him, making it impossible for him to break free. As the sharp spear was about to pierce Wen Hui's delicate body mercilessly, a flash of cold light suddenly appeared before their eyes followed by a loud clang. A treasured blade had arrived like lightning and accurately struck the spear held by the soldier. In an instant, the powerful impact not only broke the spear but also sent the soldier flying backward like a broken kite. 0

The one who threw the treasured blade to save Wen Hui was Lin Ning! Lin Ning had been worried when Cong Jiang entered Min's royal residence without returning for so long. In a state of urgency, he led his group swiftly to the royal residence. By then, the place was already filled with hundreds of fully armed soldiers. The leading soldier shouted hoarsely, "The Great Khan has ordered that all rebels daring to invade the royal residence be captured!" Following his command, the soldiers echoed loudly and surged forward like a tide. 0

In an instant, Lin Ning wielded his Sunlight Blade with dazzling brilliance as if lightning had split the night sky. Amidst the sound of clashing metal, several soldiers fell screaming into pools of blood while Lin Ning’s sharp blade remained untainted by blood. In no time at all, he carved out a bloody path with his extraordinary swordsmanship and successfully led everyone away from this den of danger. 0

As they fled at full speed towards the northeast direction, Cong Jiang and Cong Rong closely guarded Wen Hui on either side without daring to slacken their vigilance. The pursuing soldiers behind them were increasing in number relentlessly as if they were an unshakeable shadow that could not be shaken off. Seeing the situation grow increasingly dire, Lin Ning furrowed his brow and shouted at Cong Jiang loudly: "Uncle! The situation is urgent; you and Master’s Wife along with Rong'er should ride on that Sweat Blood Horse and Azure Wind Horse ahead first! The rest of us will hold them off and ensure your safe escape!" 0

Cong Jiang replied firmly: "How can we abandon our brothers who risked their lives to come rescue us? If we leave, we leave together!" Lin Ning understood Cong Jiang's character well enough to know that further persuasion would be futile at this point. Thus, everyone fought back against their attackers while slowly retreating. However, more soldiers continued to pursue them relentlessly as if they were endless. 0

At that moment, a soldier leader stepped forward and shouted loudly: "Fire!" With that command given, countless arrows rained down upon them like locusts crossing over a field. Faced with such dense arrows raining down upon them, everyone raised their weapons defensively in front of themselves. Fortunately for them, these soldiers' arrows were unable to breach their tight defense for now. 0

However, soldiers continued pouring in from all directions until they formed an impenetrable encirclement around them. As the situation grew increasingly perilous, Lin Ning appeared like a war god riding on his imposing Sweat Blood Horse. He gripped his gleaming Sunlight Blade tightly in both hands as he swung it left and right; wherever he went was met with carnage as if he had entered an uninhabited realm. 0

Before long, Lin Ning successfully led everyone through a bloody path using his exceptional martial skills and broke through the encirclement. Just when they thought they had escaped danger, suddenly an arrow shot straight towards Wen Hui at high speed with tremendous force. In that critical moment, Cong Jiang reacted quickly; without hesitation he swung his large blade fiercely and deflected the arrow far away. 0

However, just as Cong Jiang managed to block that arrow, a cunning soldier behind him seized the opportunity and lunged forward with his spear aimed directly at Cong Jiang's unprotected back with lightning speed. At that critical juncture when it seemed certain that the sharp spear would mercilessly pierce through Cong Jiang's body—Wen Hui stepped forward without hesitation and quickly moved behind him just in time. 0

In an instant, the spear pierced through Wen Hui's chest like lightning accompanied by a muffled thud as blood splattered everywhere. 0

"Ah—" Wen Hui let out a heart-wrenching scream as her body fell limply as if losing all support. Seeing this scene shocked Cong Jiang greatly; he quickly turned around and caught Wen Hui before she could hit the ground. At this moment she was gasping for breath and barely alive; her beautiful eyes gradually closed weakly. 0

Cong Jiang felt as if his heart were being ripped apart; he cried out in despair: "Sister Hui! How are you? You mustn't have any accidents! Wake up quickly!" His voice was filled with fear and desperation as tears streamed down his cheeks uncontrollably. 0

Meanwhile, Cong Rong was fighting fiercely against enemies when she heard commotion coming from this direction; she fought off an attacking soldier with all her might before rushing over anxiously. Upon seeing her mother lying in a pool of blood before her eyes, she immediately burst into tears: "Mother! Open your eyes! It's Rong'er! We finally met again; how can you leave us behind?" Yet no matter how desperately they called out for her—Wen Hui remained unresponsive with her eyes tightly shut. 0

Lin Ning saw this scene unfold before him; feeling anxious himself he shouted loudly: "Uncle! There’s no time! You need to take Master’s Wife on that Sweat Blood Horse away quickly!" Before he finished speaking he leaped off his horse nimbly and handed over its reins to Cong Jiang without hesitation. 0

Then he seized one of the mounted soldiers nearby by forcefully pulling him off his horse before swiftly lifting up tear-streaked Cong Rong into his arms before gracefully leaping onto another horse. 0

Without hesitation Cong Jiang picked up Wen Hui and mounted on the sturdy Sweat Blood Horse alongside Lin Ning’s group who charged forth like arrows released from bows—cutting through enemies fiercely while breaking free from encirclement. 0

They galloped away without stopping; hooves kicking up clouds of dust as they raced northeastward until they had run over one hundred miles before finally slowing down. 0

Cong Jiang carefully lifted Wen Hui down from horseback; she was covered in blood now growing cold gradually. Looking at this woman who once stood by him but now lay lifeless before him made Cong Jiang’s heart ache unbearably as tears streamed down uncontrollably while crying out: "We’ve been apart for nineteen years! After enduring countless hardships we finally reunited—why must you cruelly leave me and Rong'er behind?" 0

For years you endured hardships alone in those Borderlands raising our master’s bloodline while suffering humiliation yet still bore unjust accusations against you... It was our fault for misunderstanding you all along..." 0

Upon learning the truth Yuan Yueming felt ashamed beyond measure; filled with regret she staggered over beside Wen Hui collapsing alongside Cong Rong onto her mother’s body crying inconsolably. 0

In an instant cries echoed across empty fields making hearts ache painfully upon hearing them. 0

Yet just then—Cong Jiang suddenly stopped crying altogether; slowly lifting his head towards Lin Ning revealing determination within his gaze as he gritted his teeth saying: “Master! Today I entrust Rong'er into your care... As long as you are there looking after her—I can depart peacefully…” 0

Upon hearing these words from Cong Jiang caused Lin Ning’s heart to tremble violently—a sense of foreboding washed over him before he could even speak up against it—Cong Jiang suddenly bent down picking up a blood-stained steel knife from ground level before thrusting it towards his own chest without hesitation... 0

Cong Jiang’s eyes became hollow staring at Wen Hui; memories spent together drifted through his mind like gentle breezes yet elusive like moonlight—longing had already tortured him beyond measure leaving deep wounds within him akin to heartbreak pains yet there wasn’t even an ounce of sorrow felt because love burned too brightly filling every corner within heart leaving no room for despair... 0

As sunlight gradually dimmed casting shadows across fading horizon mirroring how Wen Hui’s warmth slowly ebbed away—she waited day after day yearning for return never regretting her sacrifices made throughout years... Time etched traces of longing upon her face where once radiance shone brightly now only remnants remained exhausted by love... 0

Gentle winds blew softly carrying coolness unnoticed by Cong Jiang who smiled tenderly at Wen Hui before closing his eyes slowly—memories filled with her laughter replaying endlessly within mind... He understood perhaps this longing would never end but still wished to guard this love until life itself faded away… 0
