The next day, Chen Xuan woke up feeling relaxed in the wooden cabin. It was clear that the Watermelon Demon had brought him back to the cabin. 0

As Chen Xuan stepped outside, he glanced around and saw the Watermelon Demon happily strolling back and forth in the field, hands behind its back, resembling a chef inspecting its kitchen. 0

“Watermelon Demon!” Chen Xuan called out from a distance. 0

The Watermelon Demon’s eyes lit up as it hurriedly picked up a watermelon and dashed back. “Master, you’re awake! Here’s today’s watermelon.” 0

“Cut it open!” 0

“Yes!” 0

Chen Xuan leisurely sat down, enjoying the thoughtful service of the Watermelon Demon. He had grown accustomed to waking up every morning to half a watermelon; if he missed a day, he would feel uncomfortable all over! 0

After finishing the refreshing watermelon, Chen Xuan felt invigorated and full of energy. Not long after, Chen Dayong arrived with a few people in a small truck. 0

There was no need for much small talk. Chen Xuan directly sliced open a watermelon and handed it to everyone. As they tasted it with astonished expressions, things progressed quickly. 0

“Twenty-five per pound; let’s start with two thousand pounds.” 0

Excitement spread across their faces as they quickly loaded the truck with a full load of watermelons. 0

Once Chen Dayong left, Chen Xuan got down to business, preparing to officially clear the land. 0

Clearing land was an arduous task. Chen Xuan, accompanied by the Watermelon Demon, took a set of tools including hoes and sickles and headed towards the eastern Barren Land. 0

The first step in clearing land was to remove debris, then turn over the soil, expose it to sunlight, and eliminate any bacteria present in the soil. Finally, fertilization was necessary to introduce microorganisms and restore ecological diversity to the soil. Only then could a piece of Barren Land have a chance of becoming arable. 0

The Barren Land was littered with dead shrubs that had been painstakingly transplanted from elsewhere by the former Chen Family Village in hopes that their tenacious life force would revive this desolate area. Unfortunately, none had survived. 0

Chen Xuan used his sickle to cut down the shrubs and then dug out the tangled roots with his hoe. Sometimes when he dug with the hoe, he would uncover a dense network of roots underground that made his scalp tingle. 0

Gritting his teeth, Chen Xuan pressed on despite the challenge. 0

One person and one demon dove headfirst into their hard work. Chen Xuan was fully immersed in the reclamation of the Barren Land, leaving no time even to sell watermelons at the entrance of Da Feng Farm. With Chen Dayong and Wang Xiong as his major clients, he had no worries about selling his watermelons. 0

As the temperature rose, the summer sales season for watermelons arrived. Chen Xuan's watermelons, without a doubt, became a sensation throughout Changfeng County and even Jianghe. Suddenly, having a Chen Xuan watermelon on the table when entertaining guests became a matter of prestige. 0

Seeing this booming market, both Wang Xiong and Chen Dayong cleverly kept the source of the watermelons a secret, so much so that no one in Jianghe knew these extraordinarily popular watermelons came from Chen Xuan's farm. Unbeknownst to them, Chen Xuan was completely absorbed in the reclamation process of the Barren Land. Unfortunately, progress was very limited. After several days of hard work, he had barely managed to clear a few acres. 0

Looking at the vast expanse of grayish-white land before him, with still over four acres of Barren Land left to tackle, Chen Xuan couldn't help but feel a wave of retreat wash over him. This was just too much! 0

Chen Xuan had considered other methods. He even employed machinery; when Wang Xiong brought his crew over yesterday and saw Chen Xuan working on the reclamation, he took out a Handheld Hydraulic Hammer from his vehicle to help with the Barren Land. 0

Thud thud thud. The powerful sound of the Handheld Hydraulic Hammer echoed as it struck the hard ground, breaking it apart piece by piece at a visible speed. However, Chen Xuan's smile didn't last long. 0

With a loud bang, the Handheld Hydraulic Hammer hit a rock and broke down. Damn it! Domestic products just don't hold up! Wang Xiong kicked the broken hammer away in frustration and patted his chest, promising to bring an imported one next time for better results. 0

Chen Xuan waved his hand in annoyance. The stubbornness of the Barren Land exceeded his expectations. After some thought, he decided to use larger machinery. He remembered that he had a friend who operated excavators; he would ask him to come over and give it a try. 0

After sending Wang Xiong off, as Chen Xuan was preparing to return to Chen Family Village, two figures approached him. One was a chubby man with a smile that gave off an air of "no entry," while the other was a towering figure resembling Dwayne Johnson. The big man led the way while the chubby man followed behind. 0

Chen Xuan raised an eyebrow, feeling a strange amusement as if the fat man was escorting the burly figure before him. 0

The two approached Chen Xuan. 0

Clang. 0

A dull sound echoed from behind. 0

Chen Xuan turned around in surprise to find the Watermelon Demon kneeling on the ground, trembling all over. 0

A glint flashed in Chen Xuan's eyes as he turned to look at the smiling fat man. 0

The fat man cheerfully extended his hand and said, "Fellow Daoist, we meet again." 0

The familiar voice made Chen Xuan's eyes widen in realization as he stared at the fat man. "You are the Celestial Messenger?" 0

"Yes!" The Celestial Messenger nodded with a smile and said, "My surname is Xin; you can just call me Old Xin from now on." 0

"This is your confinement area. From now on, make sure to listen to this fellow Daoist, understood?" 0

As he spoke, Old Xin glanced at the Robust Man beside him. 0

A hint of disdain appeared on the burly man's stern face as he held his head high with pride. 0

With a chuckle, Old Xin shook his head nonchalantly and said, "I've caused you more trouble, fellow Daoist. This is a demon; I hope you can pay extra attention to it." 0

A demon? 0

Chen Xuan's gaze sharpened as he looked at the Robust Man beside Old Xin, curious about what kind of demon this was. 0

Old Xin seemed busy; after delivering the burly man to the Farm, he didn't linger and hurriedly left. 0

Chen Xuan felt frustrated as he realized that he still knew nothing about Old Xin, the Celestial Realm, or demons. 0

He silently resolved that when Old Xin came by next time, he would definitely pull him aside for a good chat. 0

"Watermelon Demon, please take care of this brother who has just arrived; I need to run home for a bit." 0

"Yes, my lord." 0

With that, Chen Xuan hurriedly rode off on his Tricycle. 0
