Chen Xuan had left.
The farm was now only occupied by the Watermelon Demon and the newly arrived giant.
The Watermelon Demon nervously got up, patted his backside, and prepared to continue cultivating the barren land. As he passed by the giant, he paused for a moment and respectfully said, "My lord, just stay here properly. The previous lord was quite kind and did not act excessively."
The giant sneered coldly, clearly disdainful. "You, a mere Watermelon Demon with only three hundred years of cultivation, think you can speak to me?"
The Watermelon Demon’s expression changed; the giant had accurately discerned his level of cultivation! This was a powerful demon!
Realizing this, the Watermelon Demon’s attitude became even more respectful; he nearly knelt down. "I dare not presume, but I just wanted to inform my lord about some conditions here."
The giant's gaze flickered as he surveyed his surroundings. Chen Xuan's farm was well-positioned; to the left of the watermelon field was a winding stream, to the south lay a forested mountain area, and to the right was barren land, beyond which was another forest.
A dual-lane cement road ran from the north, bending near the watermelon field and heading towards Chen Family Village.
The giant quickly grasped the layout of the area. Suddenly, he strode towards the left side of the watermelon field.
Seeing this, the Watermelon Demon hurriedly tried to stop him. "My lord, we cannot leave the farm; this place has been sealed off by an array set by the celestial realm."
Ignoring him completely, the giant continued forward.
Suddenly, it felt as if an invisible barrier blocked his path. No matter how hard he pushed forward, he could not move an inch and remained rooted to the spot.
The giant's expression changed as he tried several directions but found them all equally futile. It was frustratingly close to the outside world yet utterly unreachable!
In other words, his range of movement was limited to just twenty acres of watermelon field in front of him and a few hundred acres of barren land to his right.
Damn it! Even rolling over in the Demon Realm is more spacious than this!
The big man sat dejectedly on the bench.
"We can't go out without an adult," the Watermelon Demon said cautiously.
The big man lowered his head and said nothing.
Seeing this, the Watermelon Demon ignored him and continued to swing the hoes, diligently working on clearing the land.
Irritated, the big man walked over and shouted, "Hey, little demon, what are you doing?"
"I'm clearing the land!" the Watermelon Demon hurriedly replied. "The adults here won't mistreat demons like they do in the Celestial Realm, where they flay us alive. I just want to live a little longer and repay the adults."
"Oh?"
A glint flashed in the big man's eyes as he glanced at the hoes in the Watermelon Demon's hands and then looked down at the barren land beneath his feet, frowning in silence.
The Watermelon Demon smiled awkwardly and continued to focus on clearing the land.
The hoes struck the ground, turning over the hard earth.
After sweating profusely, the Watermelon Demon managed to clear just over a meter of land.
"Ha!"
The big man couldn't help but laugh from the side. "You're not very good at this."
The Watermelon Demon blushed, chuckling shyly without daring to respond.
The big man’s eyes twinkled as he casually said, "Little demon, is what you said true? As long as you work hard here, you can avoid being flayed and live comfortably?"
"Yes!" The Watermelon Demon nodded eagerly but suddenly shook his head and quickly added, "Even if you don't work hard, the adults will still treat you well!"
"That won't do! I, Dali Niu Mo, am not a demon who eats for free!"
With that, the big man twisted his neck and took a step forward. He strode confidently toward the Watermelon Demon, his towering figure contrasting sharply with that of the Watermelon Demon, resembling an adult standing next to a child.
