Chen Xuan had been worried about the situation in Barren Land for the past few days. He checked on it four or five times a day to ease his mind. Today, as he stepped out of the wooden cabin, he noticed a group of people standing by the roadside in the distance. Upon closer inspection, he realized it was Professor Yang and the others from a few days ago!
With a bright expression, Chen Xuan approached them and smiled, "Professor Yang, you’re here! How was the meeting?"
"It was quite fruitful!" Professor Yang replied with a cheerful grin.
"Senior Brother," Liu Yueming and Zhang Hou greeted him with smiles.
Chen Xuan nodded in response but suddenly noticed Wang Xiong behind Professor Yang, who was making eye contact with him. Chen Xuan raised an eyebrow. He knew that Professor Yang and the others were here for Barren Land.
Just as Chen Xuan was about to share some updates about Barren Land, Sun Hao, who was standing nearby, interjected, "Senior Brother, have your seeds sprouted?"
"Yes!" Chen Xuan replied with a faint smile.
"Impressive!" Sun Hao chuckled, though his smile didn’t quite reach his eyes. He casually glanced around and added, "But Senior Brother, when we came a few days ago, this piece of Barren Land didn’t look like this at all. It’s changed so much in just a few days!"
Chen Xuan smiled lightly and said, "I’ve had some good luck; my methods worked."
"Oh, still putting on an act," Sun Hao thought to himself. He believed Chen Xuan was being overly pretentious. At this point, pretending to have solved the issues of Barren Land seemed ridiculous—if it weren’t for the international experts standing beside him, he might have been fooled too.
"And what exactly is your solution?" Sun Hao raised his voice in feigned surprise while glancing at Professor Park beside him.
Seeing Professor Park's face turn pale with anger, Sun Hao couldn’t help but smirk with satisfaction.
"That’s my secret; I can’t reveal it," Chen Xuan naturally refused to disclose the secret of the lake water and did not answer Sun Hao.
However, Sun Hao didn’t mind; he had achieved his goal.
Upon hearing Chen Xuan's response, Professor Park looked as if his authority had been challenged; his face flushed instantly.
In a low voice, he exclaimed, "Cheating! You Chinese person! How dare you cheat!"
Chen Xuan cast a cold gaze at the international authority who had always looked down on him, sneering, "Professor Park, I hope you can take responsibility for what you say!"
"Responsibility? How can I not take responsibility!" Professor Park jumped up, pointing an accusing finger at Chen Xuan, his face flushed with anger. "This is a dead zone! It cannot possibly recover!"
"I have studied soil for decades; how could I be wrong? I am an authoritative expert!"
"You must be cheating, young man! Otherwise, this dead zone would never recover!" Professor Park shouted in exasperation.
At these words, the crowd's expressions shifted, their gazes turning to Chen Xuan with a mix of complexity.
Even Wang Xiong, who had always believed in Chen Xuan, showed signs of doubt. Only Professor Yang's eyes remained filled with unwavering trust.
Feeling the weight of Professor Yang's faith, Chen Xuan smiled faintly and asked, "Where's the evidence?"
"Evidence?" Professor Park was taken aback.
"I heard that in the past, some farms would transplant sod on a large scale in spring to trick buyers into thinking their land was worth more. Brother, you wouldn't be doing something like that, would you?" Sun Hao suddenly spoke up, his eyes filled with concern for Chen Xuan.
Liu Yueming's gaze flickered; she clearly knew about this method of cheating as well.
"That's exactly it! Damn it!" Professor Park exploded with rage, jumping up and glaring furiously at Chen Xuan.
