The world remained the same, yet it was shrouded in a faint mist. Chen Xuan stood before Jin, staring blankly with wide eyes. He noticed that the Jin closest to him was enveloped in a thick fog, so dense it was nearly impenetrable.
Instinctively, he reached out to touch the mist, and suddenly, a voice echoed in his mind:
"My lord, how does it feel?"
Jin smiled broadly; he did not move his lips, yet Chen Xuan clearly heard his voice.
Is this the Perception Technique? Chen Xuan thought, astonished.
"Yes," Jin replied with a grin. "Once you activate the spiritual bone at the back of your head, you will be able to see the Ling Yun of all things in nature. At that point, by simply touching these Ling Yun, you can communicate with everything around you."
"Even more advanced practitioners like myself can assess the physical conditions of beings based on the abundance of their Ling Yun. It is said that when one reaches the highest level of cultivation, they can even perceive the changes in the earth's Spiritual Energy—truly remarkable."
"Was it through this ability that you determined Niu Lao's death?"
"Indeed!"
"That is truly astonishing."
Chen Xuan nodded in shock as he gazed around him in confusion. The grass beneath his feet stretched out toward a nearby watermelon field where the Watermelon Demon rested lazily on a lounge chair. Nearby, Qing Xuan frolicked about while munching on grass-fed cattle. Even further away, in the mountains and forests, there was a layer of faint Ling Yun.
It was merely a matter of varying intensity. Among them, the Watermelon Demon had the most pronounced presence—at least ten times that of Qing Xuan. And Jin's aura was at least a hundred times stronger than that of the Watermelon Demon.
As Jin had said, the stronger the life force of a being, the more potent their Ling Yun!
Chen Xuan took a glance and instinctively turned to look toward the distant farm. Suddenly, an incredibly brilliant light appeared before him, dazzling like the blazing sun!
He couldn't help but raise his hand to shield his eyes, astonished: "That direction... is that Holy Spirit Lake? How can there be such an intense Ling Yun?"
"Sir, please do not be rude."
Jin spoke respectfully, "That is where that esteemed individual resides. Their strength far surpasses mine, and naturally, Ling Yun is much stronger than I am."
"Is it really that much stronger?"
Chen Xuan felt a surge of astonishment. He swallowed hard, his curiosity about the demon he had encountered in Holy Spirit Lake growing. What kind of demon could possess such a dazzling Ling Yun?
His curiosity peaked, and he became increasingly interested in that knowledgeable demon. Unfortunately, no matter how much he pressed Jin for answers, Jin remained tight-lipped.
"Forget it, I'll find out eventually," Chen Xuan muttered, deciding not to dwell on it any longer.
Suddenly, a wave of dizziness washed over him. Chen Xuan swayed slightly, and Jin quickly steadied him, concerned. "Sir, you've just begun learning the Perception Technique; you must not overexert yourself!"
Understood! Chen Xuan nodded.
In the blink of an eye, several days passed. With the Watermelon Demon tending to the watermelon field and Jin taking care of the cattle, Chen Xuan found himself at a loss for what to do on the vast farm.
However, he soon remembered what he needed to focus on.
The orchard!
Chen Xuan couldn't shake the thought of the orchard that had been delayed for too long; he needed to make time to get it started. Otherwise, if he missed this season, many fruit trees would be impossible to plant.
Without hesitation, he quickly briefed Jin on a few things and hopped onto his tricycle, heading straight for Changfeng County's Fruit Tree Trading Market.
As he rode his tricycle, Chen Dafeng and Da Feng Farm soon came into view. It was as lively as ever, with groups of tourists laughing and playing inside.
Chen Dafeng stood right at the door, wearing a floral shirt and adorned with a thick gold chain around his neck. He looked around with great satisfaction, reveling in his accomplishments.
This is the empire I have built!
