Chen Dafeng had been in the business for many years, and now he was thriving at Da Feng Farm, quickly becoming a well-known figure in Chen Family Village. Life was looking up for him!
Just as he was feeling pleased with himself, Chen Dafeng suddenly spotted a young man riding a tricycle speeding towards him. Upon closer inspection, he realized it was Chen Xuan from the same village.
This kid…
Chen Dafeng pinched his chin, his expression turning sour. Ever since he started his farm, several envious rivals had tried to set up their own businesses, but unfortunately for them, none could compete with Da Feng Farm and they all ended up closing down.
Chen Xuan had opened his own farm last year and somehow managed to stay afloat until now. Chen Dafeng looked down on Chen Xuan's efforts and his status as the only prestigious university graduate in the village.
What a joke! A so-called prestigious university graduate who is just jealous of my business.
Even though Chen Xuan had repeatedly denied being envious of Da Feng Farm, to Chen Dafeng, it was clear that he wanted to compete with him.
Now, seeing Chen Xuan rushing by on his tricycle, Chen Dafeng snorted coldly and stopped him.
Screech.
The tricycle came to a halt.
Chen Xuan looked at Chen Dafeng in surprise.
With an air of arrogance, Chen Dafeng said, "Xiao Xuan, I heard from the villagers that your farm has been selling watermelons lately?"
"Yes!" Chen Xuan nodded, unsure of what Chen Dafeng wanted.
"Give me a few dozen watermelons. It’s summer and my farm is busy; I can sell them too."
"Sure," Chen Xuan replied. The watermelons in his field, after deducting the fifty thousand pounds reserved for Wang Xiong and what Chen Dayong had been taking over the past few days, still had at least ten thousand pounds left.
He hadn’t rushed to sell them yet and even considered long-term storage plans. However, since someone wanted to buy now, he certainly wouldn’t miss out on this opportunity.
He smiled and asked, "How many do you want? I can deliver them tomorrow."
"What’s the price per pound?" Chen Dafeng asked casually.
"Not expensive, eighty-one pounds," Chen Xuan said with a smirk.
"Alright then, give me a... how much is it per pound?" Chen Dafeng's eyes widened in disbelief as he stared at Chen Xuan.
Chen Xuan smiled lightly, "Eighty, per pound."
"Eighty-one pounds? Are you trying to rob me?" Chen Dafeng cursed angrily, glaring at Chen Xuan with a fierce look. "Kid, do you think just because I've made a few bucks in business, you can fleece me?"
"I'm telling you, I'm not an idiot."
Chen Xuan chuckled, "I’m not lying to you. It’s eighty-one pounds; I’ve always had this price. Do you still want it?"
"Get lost!" Chen Dafeng shot a glare at Chen Xuan.
Chen Xuan raised an eyebrow, a hint of coldness flashing in his eyes as he prepared to speak.
Suddenly, a commotion erupted from the farm, accompanied by screams.
Instinctively, Chen Xuan turned to look and saw a filthy wild boar charging towards the nearby tourists, baring its teeth.
The tourists screamed and scattered in panic.
A beautiful young woman holding a little boy was about to flee in terror when she slipped and tripped over a dead tree branch.
With a yelp, the young woman fell to the ground, taking her little boy down with her.
"Xiaohua!" several nearby tourists screamed upon witnessing the scene.
"Help me!" Xiaohua trembled on the ground, clutching her son tightly.
The filthy wild boar slowly approached, baring its teeth menacingly.
The surrounding tourists exchanged fearful glances and retreated repeatedly, but no one dared to step forward.
As the wild boar drew closer to Xiaohua and the danger intensified, a figure suddenly rushed forward.
Standing firmly in front of Xiaohua, they slowly raised their right hand.
It is indeed Chen Xuan!
