It was now midsummer, yet there were still peach blossoms in full bloom. Zhou Shui gazed at the nearby Peach Tree, vibrant and full of life, its blossoms dancing beautifully in the breeze. The sight was simply enchanting. Oh, how lovely the peach blossoms were! Little Hua was delighted; she adored peach blossoms more than anything.
Zhou Shui shook his head, still somewhat incredulous. He instinctively moved closer to observe the blossoms up close. After a few steps, he paused.
Looking down, he noticed a Blueberry Tree at his feet. The luscious Blueberry Flowers hung delicately from its branches. Were Blueberry Flowers blooming at this time of year? Zhou Shui felt a wave of confusion wash over him. If he remembered correctly, Blueberry Flowers typically bloomed in March or April; now it was midsummer, so they should have long since finished.
Unable to resist, Zhou Shui crouched down and gently touched one of the Blueberry Flowers. It was real, not artificial. The faint fragrance carried by the wind momentarily distracted him.
He stood up in a daze and continued forward. A Longan Tree appeared on his right side. Zhou Shui instinctively looked over to see clusters of simple yet beautiful Longan Flowers quietly hanging from its branches. He wasn't sure when Longans bloomed, but he knew that during summer he often enjoyed eating them, so they must not bloom in summer.
Raising an eyebrow, Zhou Shui examined the Longan Flowers closely as well. They were real too.
Silent, Zhou Shui lifted his gaze towards the Peach Tree ahead. At this distance, he was certain without needing to get any closer that the peach blossoms were indeed real.
He surveyed his surroundings. Xiang You, Yangmei, pears, apples, peaches, loquats—many familiar fruit trees came into view, and Zhou Shui's expression grew increasingly astonished.
Many trees that should not be blooming at this season were indeed flowering, their blossoms vibrant and striking. Meanwhile, some seasonal fruit trees already bore tender green fruits that would likely ripen in due time.
Zhou Shui stepped forward and arrived at a Yangmei tree, where some tender Yangmei fruit hung from the branches. It was definitely not ripe yet. However, Zhou Shui inexplicably plucked one of the Yangmei and put it in his mouth.
To his surprise, the expected bitterness did not come; instead, he tasted a faint sweetness.
Hmm? Zhou Shui's eyes widened in shock. This was supposed to be young Yangmei, which should taste bitter, yet it was pleasantly sweet. He couldn't help but wonder how sweet these Yangmei would be if they were fully ripe!
With that thought, Zhou Shui finally believed what Xiaohua had said: the owner of this farm truly had a talent for growing fruit!
Xiaohua, I now believe that the watermelons from this farm are indeed delicious. Zhou Shui chewed thoughtfully and smiled after swallowing the Yangmei.
Xiaohua giggled, "I didn't lie; the watermelons from this farm are really good. Just a moment ago, you were adamant that you didn't believe me!"
"I believe it now!" Zhou Shui surrendered, raising both hands in mock defeat.
He looked around with a sense of wonder: he never expected that young man would have such talent.
"Honey, are you falling for him?" Xiaohua knew Zhou Shui well; just by looking at his expression, she could tell he was impressed.
"Yes," Zhou Shui nodded earnestly. "I need to talk to that young man later and offer him a job in my team; we can't let his talent go to waste."
"Pfft! He probably wouldn't care about your offer," Xiaohua pretended to scoff.
Zhou Shui smiled proudly, "A regular job wouldn't suit him. If he's willing to join us, I can offer him a managerial position with a starting salary of one hundred thousand!"
"Really?" Xiaohua gasped in surprise. A position with a salary of one hundred thousand was rare in Jianghe City, and if it was offered by the wealthy Zhou Shui, it would be even more valuable.
If word got out, it would surely attract the attention of many talented young people in Jianghe City.
"Now that's more like it!" Xiaohua smiled with satisfaction. After all, he was our benefactor and had talent; this position would be a fitting reward for him!
