It was a year ago that Zhou Shuisheng had imported this precious Blood Red Golden Arowana at great expense from abroad. Unfortunately, due to improper breeding methods, this fish, which was worth a fortune, now appeared to be on the brink of death, moving weakly and listlessly. Its eyes were dull and lifeless, and its scales, which should have been a brilliant blood-red, looked dim and lackluster.
Suddenly, the struggling Blood Red Golden Arowana quivered and slowly sank to the bottom of the tank.
“Oh no! The big fish is dying!” Zhou Xiaohau exclaimed in alarm as he hurried to the kitchen to find his parents.
Hearing the commotion, Zhou Shuisheng and his wife rushed out of the kitchen and immediately spotted the Blood Red Golden Arowana lying motionless at the bottom of the tank.
Zhou Shuisheng frowned as he approached to observe it closely. Shaking his head, he said, “This fish won’t last long; it probably won’t make it through today.”
“What a pity! It cost us several thousand back then,” Xiao Zhi lamented.
Zhou Shuisheng shrugged with indifference. “If you like it that much, I can buy you another one later.”
“Let’s deal with this first! Oh no! The fish is still in the pot!” Xiao Zhi suddenly shrieked.
“Oh no!” Zhou Shuisheng raised an eyebrow and dashed toward the kitchen, with Xiao Zhi following closely behind.
Soon, only Zhou Xiaohau was left outside.
Is the big fish really dying? Zhou Xiaohau had overheard his parents’ conversation and leaned over the fish tank, gazing sadly at his beloved pet.
Suddenly, the big fish bubbled up a little air, its mouth opening and closing as if trying to speak.
“Hm…” Zhou Xiaohau watched curiously at the sinking Blood Red Golden Arowana and whispered, “Big fish, big fish, what do you want to say?”
Of course, the Blood Red Golden Arowana couldn’t talk; it was nearing its end and merely breathed instinctively.
But Zhou Xiaohau didn’t think so. He stared blankly at the Blood Red Golden Arowana for a while before mumbling, “Big fish, big fish, do you feel suffocated? Should I change your water?”
He had seen Zhou Shuisheng change the water for the Blood Red Golden Arowana a few times before.
He naively thought that the Blood Red Golden Arowana needed a water change at that moment, so he brought over a small stool, climbed on it, and with both arms reaching into the fish tank, he struggled to lift the Blood Red Golden Arowana out.
The Blood Red Golden Arowana had some weight to it. Zhou Xiaohau's little face turned bright red as he swayed unsteadily while walking outside.
After just a few steps, he could no longer hold on. His gaze swept around and landed on a water bucket that had just been used to hold Silver Fish. Zhou Xiaohau's eyes lit up, and he hurried over.
The bucket wasn't large, but it still contained half a bucket of Holy Spirit Lake Water. Without thinking too much, Zhou Xiaohau loosened his grip and tossed the Blood Red Golden Arowana into the bucket.
With a splash, the Blood Red Golden Arowana landed headfirst, half of its body out of the water and half submerged, just as Zhou Xiaohau had thrown it in.
He squatted down, resting his chin on his hands, looking at the bucket with great anticipation: "Big fish, big fish, you need to get better soon."
After a while, suddenly a voice called out: "Zhou Xiaohau! Where are you? Come over and eat fish!"
"Mom! I'm saving the big fish!" Zhou Xiaohau shouted back.
"Saving fish? What fish are you saving?" Xiao Zhi asked in confusion, but she quickly shouted again: "Oh my goodness! How did you manage to take that Golden Arowana out? It's really going to die now!"
"It seems I’ve wasted several thousand," Zhou Shuisheng's voice soon followed.
"Come eat fish! Don't look at that dead fish!"
"But Mom, this big fish seems to be alive!"
"Huh?"
Two figures walked out from the villa.
Zhou Shuisheng hurried over, puzzled: "Son, what did you just say about the big fish being alive?"
"It's this big fish!" Zhou Xiaohau pointed at the bucket in front of him.
Zhou Shuisheng instinctively looked up.
Upon seeing it, he was left dumbfounded.
