Inside the small bucket, a Blood Red Golden Arowana, over sixty centimeters in length, had half of its body submerged in water while the other half was exposed. Zhou Shuisheng couldn't help but frown, feeling a deep pang of sorrow.
"Son, this is a Blood Red Golden Arowana worth millions! You’re being too rough!"
Zhou Shuisheng chuckled helplessly. He felt sorry for this rare fish that had traveled from abroad, only to struggle in his home environment and now was being treated so playfully by his son. The concern was overwhelming.
"Alright, son, let’s go inside and eat some fish," Zhou Shuisheng said with a smile as he ruffled his son's hair.
"Okay," Zhou Xiaohau replied softly, extending his hands to pick up the Blood Red Golden Arowana.
"Let Daddy do it," Zhou Shuisheng laughed as he gently pulled his son back and reached out to hold the fish himself, which he believed was barely hanging on to life.
Suddenly, the Blood Red Golden Arowana thrashed powerfully in the bucket. The force nearly made Zhou Shuisheng drop it!
Startled, he thought to himself, "This fish is surprisingly strong! It’s almost dead but still so lively!"
With that thought in mind, Zhou Shuisheng lifted the Blood Red Golden Arowana completely out of the bucket.
"Huh?" Zhou Shuisheng exclaimed in surprise. Was it just his imagination? He felt that the scales of the Blood Red Golden Arowana had become brighter, losing their previous dullness.
Could it be the lighting?
He instinctively looked up at the sun overhead and turned the fish around to examine its head.
What he saw left him utterly stunned. The Blood Red Golden Arowana was now breathing vigorously, its bright eyes sparkling with life as it stared back at him as if to say, "What are you doing holding me?"
Zhou Shuisheng was stunned. Wasn’t this big fish supposed to be on the verge of death? But looking at it now, it was clearly full of life and vitality!
He carefully examined the Blood Red Golden Arowana before him, its bright scales shimmering, its eyes sparkling with energy, and its overall appearance radiating health—completely contrary to his earlier judgment that it was about to die. How could this be possible?
Zhou Shuisheng exclaimed in disbelief. Having made a living in the seafood industry, he had interacted with countless fish throughout his life. If he couldn’t even tell whether a fish could survive or not, wouldn’t that be a laughingstock?
But now, this resurrected Blood Red Golden Arowana had dealt him a heavy blow! For the first time, Zhou Shuisheng had misjudged a situation.
Staring blankly at the Golden Arowana in his arms, he felt a sense of confusion and ignorance wash over him. He wandered back into the house, holding the Blood Red Golden Arowana in a daze.
His wife, Xiao Zhi, was jokingly setting the table when she caught sight of Zhou Shuisheng entering with the Blood Red Golden Arowana. She glanced over casually but suddenly exclaimed in surprise, “Wow! This Golden Arowana is alive! You’re amazing!”
Xiao Zhi generously praised Zhou Shuisheng. However, he shook his head with a wry smile. “Honey, I didn’t save this fish.”
“Not you? Then it must be Zhou Xiaohau!” Xiao Zhi laughed lightly, thinking Zhou Shuisheng was joking.
“Definitely not Zhou Xiaohau either.”
Zhou Shuisheng placed the Blood Red Golden Arowana into the aquarium, and it immediately began to swim energetically. The transformation was astonishing compared to its previous state.
Standing before the aquarium, Zhou Shuisheng stared blankly at the Blood Red Golden Arowana inside. He pondered what could have caused such an incredible change in a fish that had been on the brink of death.
Suddenly, a thought struck him; he shuddered as he considered a possibility.
