He rushed out of the villa and scanned the area anxiously, his gaze locking onto a bucket not far away. Zhou Shuisheng's eyes lit up with excitement as he strode over. He crouched down, his sharp gaze inspecting the bucket before him.
"What's wrong?" Xiao Hua asked with concern as she approached.
Zhou Shuisheng remained silent, furrowing his brow as he studied the bucket, or more precisely, the water inside it. There didn’t seem to be anything unusual about it.
“That’s odd,” Zhou Shuisheng muttered to himself. Suddenly, he reached out and scooped a handful of water, hesitating for a moment before steeling himself and drinking it down.
The lake water was incredibly sweet. Zhou Shuisheng's eyes brightened instantly; after just one sip, he felt a refreshing sensation wash over him, alleviating much of the fatigue from his busy day.
Unable to resist, he took another sip, but this time his brow furrowed again. The water was still sweet, but he could clearly sense that the invigorating feeling he had just experienced was somewhat diminished.
“That water was just used for fish! How dirty! Why would you drink that?” Xiao Hua scolded him from the side.
Zhou Shuisheng shook his head and took another sip after a moment. This time, the refreshing sensation faded even more.
“The effect of this water is continuously weakening,” Zhou Shuisheng thought to himself.
“What are you mumbling about?” Xiao Hua asked curiously.
He looked up at her, suddenly filled with fervor. “Wife, I just discovered a huge secret! We might be on the verge of striking it rich!”
“Rich?” Xiao Hua paused in surprise and laughed. “We’re already doing well; how much richer can we get?”
Zhou Shuisheng's gaze burned with intensity. “What if I told you there’s at least tens of billions in wealth waiting for you? Would that excite you?”
“Tens of billions?” Xiao Hua gasped, covering her mouth in shock, her eyes sparkling. “Of course that would excite me! What do you mean by striking it rich?”
“It’s Xiao Chen!” Zhou Shuisheng could no longer contain his joy and exclaimed excitedly.
Xiao Chen?
Xiao Hua was taken aback. What does this have to do with him?
Facing Xiao Hua's skepticism, Zhou Shuisheng slowly shook his head, excitement bubbling within him. "It’s hard to explain right now, my dear. If my guess is correct, we are about to strike it rich!"
"My dear, I now truly believe in the saying that some people bring good fortune to their partners. Without you, I wouldn’t have achieved my current status from scratch. If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t have met Xiao Chen."
"Without knowing Xiao Chen, I would have missed out on billions in wealth!"
At this point, Zhou Shuisheng could no longer contain his excitement and kissed Xiao Hua passionately.
Xiao Hua shyly covered her face. "Stop it! Our son is watching." Then she asked, "So are you planning to collaborate with Xiao Chen?"
"Of course we will collaborate, but we need to change our approach."
Zhou Shuisheng's eyes glimmered with thought as he spoke seriously. "Today, you’ve seen that Xiao Chen is not swayed by money; he is determined to pursue what he wants. A person like him needs a different way to be moved."
After pondering for a moment, Zhou Shuisheng suddenly had a bright idea and smiled proudly. "A few days ago, we investigated Xiao Chen. Isn’t his father working in Jianghe City? We can start by winning over Chen Xuan's father and gradually get Xiao Chen to accept our collaboration."
"That sounds good," Xiao Hua nodded in agreement.
"We shouldn’t delay."
Zhou Shuisheng hurried to his study, meticulously planning how to use Chen Dahai to facilitate the collaboration with Chen Xuan.
Suddenly, his phone rang.
Irritated, Zhou Shuisheng answered the call. On the other end was the driver’s voice: "President Zhou, you have a dinner appointment with Ma Zong tonight."
"No, tell Ma Zong to come tomorrow instead; I have something important to attend to right now."
"But President Zhou, you’ve already canceled on Ma Zong once. What if—"
"Then let him roll! I don’t have time for these small projects worth a few billion!" Zhou Shuisheng raised an eyebrow, exuding an air of dominance.
