Chen Xuan walked to a secluded area and answered the phone.
"Xiao Chen," Professor Yang's voice came through, serious and solemn. "Do you have any urgent matters at hand?"
"No," Chen Xuan replied honestly. Suddenly, a thought struck him, and he asked, "Professor, is there a problem with the project over there?"
"Yes," Professor Yang nodded. "The difficulty of this project has exceeded my expectations. We conducted another experiment yesterday, but the results were disappointing, to say the least. We've also faced a lot of internal pressure."
"Internal pressure?" Chen Xuan raised an eyebrow, surprised. "Are you referring to the Nong Wang Group?"
Upon Chen Xuan's probing, Professor Yang sighed and said, "Indeed. Currently, within the Nong Wang Group, opinions on this project are divided—some support it while others oppose it. This project has consumed a lot of funding, and with no immediate results in sight, many people are starting to have second thoughts. Just yesterday, a batch of supplies that was supposed to be delivered on time was delayed, causing some issues with our data experiments."
"Is that really happening?" Chen Xuan was furious. For an experimenter, nothing is more frustrating than internal setbacks.
He took a deep breath and asked, "What about Yue Ming? How is she doing?"
"She's currently tied up in a meeting at headquarters and can't get away. The Experimental Base is being managed by one of her cousins for now."
Professor Yang sighed and said, "Xiao Chen, this project has reached its most critical moment. After thinking it over, I believe only you can create a miracle."
"I understand," Chen Xuan replied solemnly.
Professor Yang's meaning was clear, and Chen Xuan understood it well. They needed Chen Xuan now to work wonders!
Chen Xuan recognized the importance of this project. If it failed, the Corn Market would completely erase any trace of Domestic Brands and would fall entirely into the hands of Foreign Brands. At that point, it would be a time when the people of Xia Country would be at the mercy of others.
No researcher from Xia Country would allow such a situation to occur, and Chen Xuan certainly wouldn't either. For Professor Yang, and for Liu Yueming, both personally and professionally, Chen Xuan had to go!
With that thought in mind, Chen Xuan resolutely declared, "Teacher, I will pack my things and head over right now."
"Great! I'll be waiting for you!" Professor Yang said excitedly on the other end of the phone.
After hanging up, Chen Xuan turned back to the wooden cabin and quickly gathered his belongings. Just as he was about to leave the Farm, he paused for a moment.
He stepped outside the Cattle Shed and called inside, "Jin Xiong, I'm going on a trip. Do you want to come with me?"
Last time, Chen Xuan promised Jin Xiong that he would take him along the next time he went out.
Bang!
The door was slammed open. Jin Xiong stumbled out of the Cattle Shed, his body radiating a fierce energy, as if he had just come down from the battlefield. He stared wide-eyed at Chen Xuan and said in a deep voice, "Going out now? No way! I'm in a critical moment right now and can't leave this place for a second."
"Then there's nothing I can do," Chen Xuan shrugged. It seemed he would have to go out alone this time.
Just as Chen Xuan was about to turn and leave, Jin Xiong stopped him. "But you can take my little brother, Ye Xiao, with you."
Ye Xiao emerged from behind the Cattle Shed like a ghost, still looking dazed and confused, resembling a seasoned drug addict.
Him? Chen Xuan raised an eyebrow in surprise. Speaking of which,
