Two days passed in the blink of an eye. Soon, the moment everyone had been holding their breath for arrived. In the one hundred acres of the Experimental Field behind Laboratory Eight, the Yao Corn was laden with bountiful ears, appearing ready to topple over under their own weight—a true harvest scene.
Chen Xuan was thrilled, and so were the other personnel in the laboratory. At this moment, they were just one step away from breaking the national record. They didn’t rush; instead, they paused briefly to wait for an important figure who had yet to arrive.
Around nine in the morning, a dozen luxury cars entered the Experimental Base, and dozens of people disembarked. Among them were Liu Haodong, the general manager of Nong Wang Ying Tuan, along with several high-ranking officials and some experts in the agricultural field. Their purpose was to verify the Corn Project of Laboratory Eight.
In the crowd, Chen Feng spotted Liu Yueming, whom he hadn’t seen in a while. Liu Yueming looked considerably haggard after some time apart, but his spirit seemed relatively good, with a hint of joy visible on his brow. This was because, just last night, after confirming that everything was fine, Chen Feng had called Liu Yueming to share the news: The Corn Project had succeeded!
This cleared away the pent-up frustration that had been building in Liu Yueming for days. She also spotted Chen Xuan in the crowd and playfully winked at him.
After a brief exchange of pleasantries, Liu Haodong, accompanied by a dozen high-ranking officials and several experts, led everyone directly to the Experimental Field behind the laboratory.
On the way, Professor Li Hong distributed the results generated by the Supercomputer simulations.
How is this possible? Is this real?
Several experts stared wide-eyed at the simulated data in their hands, incredulously looking at Professor Li Hong, eager to confirm its authenticity.
It’s real! Professor Li Hong said proudly, “We conducted several more simulation experiments afterward, and the data is remarkably consistent, with an error margin of no more than a kilogram.”
Impressive!
Upon hearing this, the experts all gave a thumbs up.
One expert remarked, “This project is incredibly challenging; even I found it daunting and thought it was nearly impossible to solve. I can’t believe you actually accomplished it!”
So, was it Professor Li Hong or Tu Gang who made this happen?

Professor Li Hong and Tu Gang exchanged glances and awkwardly cleared their throats.

The experts continued to shower praises.
Professor Li Hong and Tu Gang's faces suddenly turned red.
"Hey? Where's Professor Yang? Why isn't he here?"
Some experts noticed Professor Yang's absence and asked curiously.
Professor Li Hong replied, "Professor Yang was hospitalized a few days ago."
"What? Hospitalized!?"
Several experts were taken aback, quickly expressing their admiration, "We didn't realize Professor Yang has put in so much effort for this project! It's truly humbling for us younger ones!"
"Exactly! He's worked so hard!"
"After the assessment is over, let's go visit Professor Yang in the hospital!"
