"What’s going on?" The Mayor's face darkened as he looked at the secretary with displeasure. "Didn’t I say not to disturb us unless it’s urgent?"
The secretary’s expression was serious as he spoke in a low voice, "Mayor, there’s a very urgent matter that requires your attention."
As he spoke, the secretary handed his phone to the Mayor. The Mayor paused for a moment but instinctively took the call, clearing his throat before speaking in a composed manner. "Hello, this is Mayor Yellow River of Jianghe City. Who am I speaking with?"
A few seconds later, the Mayor's expression changed dramatically. He replied respectfully, "Yes, Leader, I’m listening. Understood... I will comply with the organization’s arrangements."
After another brief pause, Yellow River hung up the phone and casually returned it to the secretary.
