The few Caucasian dogs that had originally been tied up in the yard were now inexplicably left under the window, their eyes wide as they stared at Xu Li. Their thick lips quivered, and their low growls startled Xu Li, causing him to shrink back. 0

Well, he was certainly well-protected. 0

After closing the sheer curtains, he let out a quiet sigh and flopped down onto the bed. Exhausted, he thought, let it all be destroyed! 0

"Do you want some candy?" 0

Anna leaned over with a handful of hard candies, her face close to Xu Li's. "Mom and the sisters said that you will be my and Eva's husband from now on. We will have lots and lots of children together." 0

The scent of alcohol and smoked sausage wafted from her breath, which wasn’t pleasant. However, it was Xu Li's first time being this close to a girl. Her face, plump with youthful collagen, reflected innocence in her pure eyes as they mirrored his own. 0

Neither of them spoke; their faces drew closer until they were almost touching. The warmth and softness created a magical sensation that made Xu Li's breath quicken. Anna remained still, her expression blank, leaving Xu Li unsure of what to do next. 0

"Hey, what are you two playing?" 0

Eva asked curiously. 0

Suddenly, two heads peeked through the doorway—You Ya and her sister-in-law Sophia. They watched the three huddled together with amused smiles before gently closing the door. 0

The banquet in the yard was winding down. Natasha and several older women were clearing away the dishes while You Ya and Sophia cheerfully offered to help, chatting about what was happening in the room. 0

As experienced women, they found the situation amusing. Meanwhile, Andrei’s family of men sat quietly in a corner of the room, each with a cigarette hanging from their lips. 0

About half an hour later, a faint cry echoed from inside the house, tinged with tears: "It hurts!" 0

Creaking sounds followed. 0

Old Andrei clenched his fists tightly. "If that little brat dares to sneak away again, I’ll break his legs and toss him into the doghouse." 0

With that, he stood up and left, followed by Ivan and a few others who shrugged their shoulders. 0

When Xu Li groggily woke up, warm sunlight streamed through the window onto them. He turned his head left and right, noticing Anna's small face slightly wrinkled in her sleep. His mind went blank for a moment. 0

Had he lost control last night? 0

Slowly withdrawing his numb arms from beneath her neck, he sat up and glanced at the small stains on the sheets. Besides feeling regretful, there was also a hint of secret delight—what boy hasn’t had such fantasies? 0

He carefully got out of bed and covered her with a blanket before heading to the bathroom to wash up. Looking at his youthful face in the mirror, he wondered what this family saw in him. 0

After changing into a short-sleeved shirt, he pulled over a chair to sit by the bed. Resting his chin on his hand, he quietly observed Anna’s sleeping face. The sunlight cast a soft halo around her features. 0

Smack smack. 0

It seemed Eva was dreaming about something delicious; she smacked her lips and shook her little head. Watching her adorable expression made Xu Li’s lips curl into a smile. Perhaps living here wouldn’t be so bad after all. 0

The business that his mother built with that man would never be his to inherit, especially with that wicked woman and her son in the house. That man would never favor him. 0

But now he had a wife, a stern Mother-in-law, a serious Father-in-law, and several Brothers-in-law who preferred to work quietly rather than argue. His sisters-in-law also treated him quite well. 0

Living here was far better than going elsewhere. He struggled in school and doubted he could even earn a diploma; without one, he was nothing in his country. He could either bow his head at home, acting like a grandson to please them for some pocket money, or go work in a factory tightening screws to save up for starting a business. 0

If luck was on his side, he could start a business and find a compatible partner to build a happy family! 0

But now the problem arose: he didn’t need to start a business, skipped the dating phase entirely, and there was no dowry involved. The other party was eager to marry off their angelic daughter to him. 0

Now he had no worries about food and drink, and at night, he had his wife to warm his bed. Why should he be miserable trying to start a business? Had he been kicked in the head by a donkey? Why abandon his simple-minded wife who let him do whatever he wanted for the hassle of dating again? 0

He felt like he was losing his mind! 0

Thinking of his classmates who were once like him, waking up early and studying hard while he could sleep in as long as he wanted made him smile. 0

“Hmmm…” 0

Anna sleepily opened her eyes, rubbed them, and stretched lazily. The blanket slipped off her as she moved, but she didn’t care. She wrapped her arms around Xu Li’s neck and said, “Hug me.” 0

“Oh dear…” 0

Xu Li wrapped his left arm around her shoulder while his right arm went under her knees. His face turned red as her legs began to swing playfully. Anna only lifted her bottom slightly off the bed before falling back down within three seconds. 0

“Uh, I didn’t eat breakfast, so I have no energy. You two should hurry up and eat.” 0

He found an excuse for himself, blushing as he left the room and walked through the small path to the living room. Andrei and Natasha were chatting on the sofa, with three cups of milk on the dining table alongside lava sausage eggs and sour cucumbers. 0

Xu Li stood in the living room; seeing the old couple looking at him made him feel shy about calling out. Natasha noticed his embarrassment and smiled at him before getting up to pull him over to the dining table, pushing breakfast toward him. “Eat.” 0

“Okay.” 0

Natasha sat down next to Xu Li and watched as he took small bites of food. She couldn’t help but laugh. “If you’re too shy to speak up, you can call me Auntie first; after some time, you can change how you address me.” 0

“Okay, Auntie.” 0

“Good, eat up.” 0

Andrei sat silently on the sofa, smoking intermittently. When his precious daughter limped into the living room, a smile finally appeared on his old face. “You must be hungry; hurry up and eat.” 0

“Okay.” 0

“Yes, Dad.” 0

The two of them sat across from Xu Li, enjoying their Lava while occasionally making funny faces at him. Xu Li chuckled and crossed his eyes, which sent the twins into fits of laughter. Natasha reached over and ruffled Xu Li's hair, saying, "After you finish eating, let's take a stroll in the yard. This will be your home from now on." 0

Xu Li nodded and continued eating, while Andrei got up and stepped outside, not revealing what he was up to. 0
