Xu Li suddenly felt exhausted. Ever since the two sisters returned to normal, they had been bickering every day. He found himself missing the quiet and comfortable days of the past. He tightened his grip around their waists and said, "Let me put it this way: the Vikings dominated Europe for over two hundred years, yet they did not produce any great monarchs."
Their civilization was actually a bit more advanced than that of the Anglo-Saxons; at least they knew to bathe regularly, unlike the Anglo-Saxons who were misled by their faith. Yet, despite being such a people, the Anglo-Saxons seemed primitive and barbaric. It was clear that such a savage nation could not possibly civilize all of Europe. To the Anglo-Saxons, the Vikings were merely savages and thieves; they could never integrate into society.
Crackling sounds came from the fireplace as the fire crackled. Xu Li shared his insights about the Vikings while the sisters closed their eyes, listening to their husband's deep voice as it lulled them into sleep.
Meanwhile, in a distant farmhouse, Anan had just finished dinner and was chatting with his father-in-law in the living room. His brother Valiant was playing with a telescope he had gifted him.
Dasha ran over in her slippers. "Misha just uploaded a new video!"
"Really? Let me see!" Anan pulled out his phone and opened the app. A notification popped up from a blogger he followed, showing that Misha had uploaded a new video that was nearly half an hour long. He paused for a moment, thinking, "With such a long video and no explosive content, I doubt many people will watch it."
As soon as he clicked on the video, Xu Li's slightly fierce face appeared on screen. He grinned at the camera and said, "Hello everyone! I'm Xu Li, living in Siberia for over ten years. Today, I'll show you my daily routine."
The camera then shifted to the wall clock: "It's currently four-thirty in the morning. I usually work out for two hours."
He threw on a jacket and stepped outside into a yard blanketed in snow. Breathing out steam, he walked to a nearby gym that had been renovated. After lighting up the fireplace, he set his phone up and began stretching before his workout.
Wearing a tank top and baggy shorts with a pair of sneakers, he stood on the treadmill as he exhaled warm breath; since the fireplace had just been lit, the indoor temperature was still low. He gradually increased his running speed until he was sprinting intensely for about ten minutes before finally slowing down.
It was clear that there were editing marks in the video because the time on the wall did not match up. Panting heavily, he continued with another round of sprints before transitioning to heavy weightlifting after a brief rest. During his breaks between sets, he explained while catching his breath: "This workout routine isn't suitable for everyone, so please don't try to imitate it."
With a clap on his thigh, he began adding weights to the barbell. The exaggerated weight made even Anan, an outsider to fitness, shudder. When Xu Li effortlessly lifted the barbell, it was evident that both ends were drooping due to its weight.
Expecting him to do just one or two reps, Anan was shocked when Xu Li completed ten in one go. Dasha paused the video and waved at her brother: "Don't you have a friend who specializes in fitness? Ask him how much weight that is."
Valiant took the phone and screenshot of the video before sending it to his friend. He quickly received an accurate reply: "No protective gear for deadlifts? Is this person a professional athlete?"
Valiant swallowed hard after reading it and replied to his friend before looking at his brother-in-law across from him: "Misha, do you know this person in the video? My friend wants to meet him; this guy is impressive—lifting without protection is stronger than professional strongmen."
