The two of them were persuading each other back and forth, leaving Natasha unable to interject as they squeezed her up the stairs.
"Baby, what's wrong with your ears? Who hit you?"
As soon as Peter returned home, he was greeted by Eva, who kissed his face several times. He glanced at Old Father, who had just changed his shoes, and shrank back, not daring to speak. Xu Li came into the living room with Uncle Andong and Lisa, then served them some watermelon and washed a few Sun Muscat grapes. "Make yourselves at home."
"Thank you, Uncle."
Uncle Andong nodded happily, picking up a piece of watermelon and enjoying it. Lisa looked at Eva, who was still concerned about Peter, then glanced at Zhuo Ya across from her, who was engrossed in her phone, feeling a bit out of place.
Anna walked out of the kitchen, and Lisa obediently stood up. "Aunt Anna."
Anna hugged Lisa and kissed her cheek before handing her a piece of watermelon. "Don't be shy; eat up. Later, let Zhuo Ya take you upstairs to play."
"Okay."
Lisa nodded and took small bites of the watermelon. Zhuo Ya's previously furrowed brow suddenly relaxed. "Phew, finally cleared that level."
She tossed her phone onto the sofa, grabbed a piece of watermelon, and noticing Lisa's shyness, stood up to pull her along while they ate watermelon on their way upstairs. "Let's sleep together later. Then we can ask You are really good-looking, unlike my dad and brother; their faces are all hairy and ugly to tell us a story."
Seeing the two girls head upstairs, Anna was about to return to the kitchen when Peter came over, wrapping his arms around her waist and pulling back. "Big Mama, if my dad hits me, you have to help me out."
"I won't let him hit you if he doesn't want to."
Xu Li gave him a light pat on the head. "Go play with Uncle Andong; bring out the fruit."
"Okay!"
After receiving Old Father's assurance, Peter immediately grinned and ran upstairs with the fruit platter. "Uncle Andong, I’ll turn on the computer; let’s team up for a couple of rounds."
"Sounds good!"
Uncle Andong followed him while the large first floor was left with just the three of them. Xu Li smiled and went to help his wife in the kitchen. Besides preparing dinner for that night, they also needed to get some ingredients ready for tomorrow.
"Peter! It's ten o'clock!"
Xu Li walked into Peter's bedroom where both Little Guys were fully immersed in a shooting game. Peter was skillfully handling a golden weapon and scoring headshots. "I'll go to bed after this round."
Uncle Andong nodded in agreement. "Me too."
Seeing that they were enjoying themselves so much, Xu Li didn't say much more; he shook his head and closed the door as he approached his daughter's bedroom. He gently knocked on the door. "Can Daddy come in?"
"Okay, Daddy."
He opened the door and walked in to find Zhuo Ya and Lisa hugging teddy bears while watching a drama on their bed. Xu Li decided to sit down on the floor beside Zhuo Ya's bed and watched the episode with the two little girls until it ended. Afterward, he turned off the TV. "You should watch less of this kind of show; it can greatly distort your values."
"But Uncle, this TV show is really good!"
Lisa said, a bit confused as she leaned against Zhuo Ya, blinking her big eyes at Xu Li. Zhuo Ya nodded in agreement, "Yes, Daddy, it's just a TV show. Why do you say that?"
