"I don't mind saying this, but I'll take you to the training center."
After class, Xu Weihua pushed his bicycle up to Anna, who looked a bit surprised at him. When did this silly boy become so thoughtful? However, since her dad was coming to pick her up, she politely declined, "No thanks, Oleg. He'll take me home. You're really good-looking, unlike my dad and brother; their faces are all hairy and ugly."
"Alright then, I'll head back," Xu Weihua shrugged and nodded politely before pushing his bicycle out of the school. He had been waiting for Xu Weixia, who was leaning on the bike with one hand while raising the other in front of Angelina, playfully rubbing his fingers together. "Come on, pay up! You think that wooden block of a brother of mine will ever take the initiative to flirt? No way."
Angelina pulled out a pink pig-shaped wallet from her pocket, its eyes adorned with black gems and its nose set with two pink diamonds. Xu Weixia snatched the wallet and examined it for a moment before laughing, "Where did you get this? And why did you put some glass in there pretending they’re diamonds?"
"Mind your own business!" Angelina snatched the wallet back and playfully kicked him on the calf. "This was a birthday gift from You are really good-looking, unlike my dad and brother; their faces are all hairy and ugly. Here’s some cash for you." She handed him a thousand-ruble note.
Xu Weixia was delighted and just as he was about to tuck the ruble into his pocket, Angelina pressed down on his hand. "Wait!"
Just behind them stood Anna, petite and a bit shy as she grabbed onto Xu Weihua's bike seat. "Oleg, I have something that came up last minute. Could you give me a ride home?"
Xu Weihua was taken aback but smiled at Anna. "Sure! Hop on."
He swung his long legs over the bike, and Anna hesitated before climbing on. "Thank you!"
"No need to thank me," he replied as he stuffed his hands into his pockets to keep warm while stabilizing his position. As he spoke, he put on his gloves. Feeling her small hands wrap around him from behind, he pushed off with his right foot and waved goodbye to his stunned younger brother. "Hey! You cook dinner tonight; I want beef stew with tomatoes!"
Xu Weixia's cheeks twitched as he suddenly shouted, "Are you crazy? If you're taking her home, shouldn't you treat her to a meal?"
"Stop shouting! She's already far away. Just pay up," Xu Weixia grumbled.
Angelina beamed as she took the ruble back from him and then extended her slightly reddened hand toward him. "You’re not going to tell me you can’t afford this much money? I mean, if you’re this stingy about breakfast, I guess you don’t have much cash."
She patted Xu Weixia's arm lightly. "Oh well, I won't make it hard for you, little poor guy."
"Do I look like I’m broke?" Xu Weixia pointed at his own nose and then opened his wallet only to find just over a thousand rubles left inside. He glanced at Angelina with an awkward smile and scratched his head sheepishly. "Uh... I forgot to go to the bank today. How about I pay you back tomorrow?"
Angelina looked at the handsome boy in front of her and her eyes sparkled mischievously. "How about you treat me to a meal? Let’s see if you really can cook; you’re always bragging about how good you are at this and that."
"How does your family feel about that? Aren't they worried if you don't come home after school?"
Xu Weixia put away her wallet. "How about I give you a ride home? We can stop by a bank along the way so you can withdraw some money."
"You’re really good-looking, unlike my dad and brother. Their faces are all hairy and ugly. My mom is always busy, so there's no point in going home."
"Alright then."
