He placed the little white one on the ground and got up to return to the bedroom. Anna and Eva were tidying up the room. After a moment of thought, he said, "You two can read in the study later. Bring something to snack on for lunch, and I'll cook when I get back in the afternoon."
"Okay," Anna nodded and headed to the kitchen, while Eva continued to straighten the blankets. The three of them had played too hard last night, and the bedding needed to be taken down for cleaning.
Once the sisters finished in the study, he set a warm bottle of milk beside the unconscious Tiger Cub and patted Female Tiger's large head. "I need to get to work now; you keep an eye on the house."
After Xu Li left, the two brown bears slowly got up—one blocking the passage to the study and the other at the entrance. They ignored Female Tiger's anxious expression, lying down and dozing off.
The animals in the pasture were a bit restless, especially when Xu Li passed by; all of them kept their distance. He had mentioned it to Alexander at noon, and Old Russian chuckled, "That's because you carry the scent of that tiger. Animals are generally very sensitive. Just go home, take a shower, and change your clothes."
Xu Li waved his hand dismissively. "I don't have time for that; it’s fine as it is." After saying that, he put Old Russian's prepared medicine into the car and continued working on the ranch. When he returned to the yard in the evening, Female Tiger poked her massive head out of the door, glanced at Xu Li just getting out of the car, then withdrew back into the living room.
The unconscious Tiger Cub was now wobbling around Female Tiger, having drained its bottle long ago. Xu Li placed the medicine in a cabinet and patted Xiong Da, who was blocking the entrance. The latter stretched lazily before wandering around the yard.
He checked on Tiger Cub; Little Guy still had some raspy sounds coming from its throat but was much better than in the morning. It still seemed a bit lethargic. He rubbed its bony belly and decided to cook a large pot of rice in the kitchen, soaking some milk to feed them.
Little White suddenly had two playmates, making mealtime chaotic as they fought over food. Female Tiger seemed to treat the sofa as her little nest, lounging on it while occasionally flicking her tail and watching her children play.
A bowl of braised pork, a plate of mixed vegetables, and stir-fried cabbage made up their dinner. As Anna ate, she reached down to pet Tiger Cub beside her. "Misha, are you planning to keep them all at home?"
Xu Li nodded. "Little White has been raised at home since it was small; it has no tiger ferocity at all—it's just like a silver gradient cat. If this continues, it will become useless. Once Little Tiger Cub is well again, we’ll let them roam in the woods together. Female Tiger will teach Little White her hunting skills; after all, our family’s distance to those woods is just like taking a stroll for them."
"But what if Little White becomes wild and doesn’t come home?" Eva stopped eating and picked up Little White onto her lap, looking somewhat distressed. "I’ve raised it for months; I can’t bear to part with it."
"What are you thinking?" Xu Li scooped up some rice. "In the future, they can play outside during the day while we patrol around our ranch’s edge in those woods to prevent other wild animals from causing trouble here. They’ll come home to sleep at night; once they get used to it, we can consider them like a few hunting dogs."
Upon hearing this, Anna and Eva exchanged glances—what a great idea! They could even take a tiger out for a drive; that was way more impressive than walking a dog!
(He wanted to say something but found he had nothing significant to add!)
