"Dad, why do I feel like you've become younger and more handsome?"
At the dining table, the little girl rested her chin on her right hand, staring intently at Xu Li. Noticing his discomfort, she playfully poked him on the nose and said, "How can Dad be handsome when he's so ugly?"
After gulping down a large glass of milk, she wiped her mouth and looked at Zhuo Ya. "Did you eat the black Red Fruit from a tree hole a few days ago?"

The little girl thought for a moment and said dreamily, "I had a really long dream. In my dream, I was in a magical place that looked like our Blue Star but had things we don't have here. I loved watching those girls with their makeup; they looked so pretty!"
"Did you really dream that? That's great!"
He let out a sigh of relief, fearing his daughter might be like her mother—eating the fruit and getting a fever that would leave her intelligence stuck at this stage. Xu Li ruffled her hair. "Dad's going to check on the ranch now; you can play by yourself."
"I want to go too!"
The little girl jumped up and grabbed his big hand, following him as they drove to the ranch. The green cornfield had already been partially harvested. Old He waved cheerfully at Xu Li while continuing to drive the harvester forward, with a large truck following behind to collect the shredded straw.

He filled a large basket with sweet corn and went to the kitchen in the dining hall to have it cooked. While waiting, Old He cheerfully came over and lit a cigarette. "In another half month, we can harvest those ordinary corns too."
Xu Li nodded and asked, "How much of our Cornfield is still uncultivated?"
Old He estimated roughly, "About six thousand acres left. When we have time at the ranch, we can wander around; your cows can't eat that much corn anyway. If we cultivate it for planting, any leftover would just go to waste."
Xu Li pondered for a moment. "Can we open up another thousand acres this year? I plan to plant more Fruit Corn and try mixed feeding to see if those eating Mixed Feed Beef Cattle taste better than others."
"That'll require calling in a few more people. We'll also need to expand the cellar and drying area; with two shifts, we can definitely help you meet your target."
Xu Li smiled. "Then please ask Lao Ku to bring in a few more people; I'm sure their wages won't be low."
"What are you talking about? With your good relationship with my nephew, how could I not trust you?"
Old He chuckled and waved his hand. Just then, the corn was ready, and he took the ear of corn that Xu Li handed him. After blowing on it a bit, he took a bite. "Wow, this corn is really sweet! It's better than the one we have in Gada."
