Xu Jiaguo wiped away a tear and ran off to the gym, which had two treadmills and some basic workout equipment. Xu Lei had bought these to maintain his physique and attract girls, and they were still usable by the two of them.
Xu Jia also rushed into the gym, panting as he moved his legs on the treadmill. His body jiggled with every step, and after a while, he jumped off to catch his breath. Xu Lei, leaning against the doorframe, shook his head: "You two should take it easy today. Tomorrow, I’ll hire a personal trainer and a nutritionist for you. We’ll create the best weight loss plan for you. Running around like this might hurt your bodies."
The brothers, still catching their breath, returned to their rooms. As Xu Lei passed by them, he noticed that his nephews had somehow grown taller than him by half a head. They were still young and had room to grow.
Xu Haigui, with graying temples, sat on the sofa sipping tea: "Second son, you should start a management agency. I can’t trust anyone else with my two precious grandsons."
"Running an agency costs a lot of money," Xu Lei replied as he sat beside him. Just as he was about to calculate the expenses on his fingers, Xu Haigui waved his hand: "The agency has made quite a bit over the years. Investing some in Xiao Si and Xiao Wu isn’t a big deal. My grandsons have always looked like me; they’re definitely star material."
Li Yanhong and her son rolled their eyes at his vanity but said nothing. Xu Haigui smiled and changed the subject: "How old are you this year? Isn’t it...?"
"Starting an agency is quite troublesome; I have contacts," Xu Lei chuckled, picking up the keys from the coffee table and heading out.
Xu Haigui opened his mouth but was left speechless for a while before finally looking at Li Yanhong: "Aren’t you going to manage him?"
"Manage? If I could manage things, I’d be busy with my grandchildren now," Li Yanhong replied with an eye roll as she got up and returned to her room to apply a face mask. Xu Haigui sighed and went back to rest.
"Hey Da Xing, see you tomorrow!" A group of young men and women waved at Xu Weihua as they parted ways at the school gate. Xu Weixia hugged Angelina and playfully patted her older brother's shoulder as they passed by: "I’m sleeping at my father-in-law's house tonight. Bye!"
Xu Weihua waved him off in annoyance and rode his bicycle alone towards the supermarket. Meanwhile, Xu Weixia and Angelina rode back to their old apartment, chatting and laughing. After changing their shoes in the living room, they saw Yelena sitting on the balcony painting.
Xu Weixia approached her with a grin and gave her a thumbs up: "Auntie, your painting looks great!"
"Stop flattering me," Yelena chuckled as she playfully tapped him: "Your older brother and sister-in-law are coming over for dinner today; the dishes are in the kitchen. Can you help me out?"
"No need," Xu Weixia waved his hand dismissively: "This is such a good opportunity; I definitely want to make a good impression. It’s been over a year since big brother and sister-in-law visited."
With that, he cheerfully entered the kitchen. Yelena looked at him with satisfaction; such a good young man should be her son-in-law.
