Kamila watched as her boyfriend pulled a cloth bag from somewhere, stuffing it with vacuum-sealed meat. She shook his shoulder playfully and said with a grin, "I called my dad earlier. He'll be sending some more in a couple of days. We have plenty of beef and lamb at home. You love it, and I'm sure your family will too. More is always better."
Seeing his cheerful smile made her heart flutter.
"Are you cold?" he asked after they stepped out of the mall, noticing her slightly chilly hands.
She shook her head and smiled sweetly at him. "Not cold."
Her nose was red, yet she insisted she wasn't cold.
He tightened his grip around her and glanced at the shopping cart filled with their purchases. After a moment's thought, he led her to the mall's leisure area, ordered her a snack and some fruit tea. "Wait here for me; I’ll go buy something."
"Okay, no rush. We still have time," Kamila reassured him.
Waving his hand dismissively, Xu Weihua quickly left. Ever since his wallet had gotten thicker, he had been keeping an eye on the latest car models, with domestic brands being his first choice. If there were no cars available, he would have to settle for something else.
He took a taxi to the dealership they had visited before and waved at the sales representative at the display area. "Do you have any cars available?"
"Wow, looks like we have a big deal here!" The sales representative nodded eagerly. "Yes, sir! We just received a new batch a couple of days ago. Besides those that are reserved, we still have two fully equipped models left."
"Show me."
"This way, please," the sales representative led him to the back parking lot where two cars—one yellow and one light pink—were parked quietly under the shelter. Xu Weihua pointed at the light pink one. "How much is this one?"
"That one is custom-ordered by someone else, sir."
Xu Weihua frowned and pointed to the yellow one beside it. "What about this one?"
"Two hundred seventy thousand rubles, including insurance and full service."
"I'll take this one. Does it have power?"
"Yes, sir."
He went to the office to sign documents and complete the payment before asking the sales representative to register the license plates. He then took a taxi back to the mall where Kamila was waiting patiently. During that time, she had even taken photos and signed autographs for a few fans. As soon as she saw him arrive, she waved excitedly. "Did you get it?"
"Yes, I did."
Pushing the shopping cart alongside Kamila, they exited the mall together. They hailed a taxi that took them back to the dealership where the yellow car was already adorned with ribbons and cleaned up nicely at the entrance. He approached it, took the keys, opened the door to place their things inside, then led Kamila to stand in front of the car. "From now on, we'll use this for our outings."
"When did you buy it?" Kamila asked in surprise. Xu Weihua grinned and replied, "Just now. I know you don't mind riding a bicycle, but I couldn't bear to let you freeze."
After planting a kiss on her cheek, he added, "Let's get on the bike."
"Okay!"
As they rode away, the envy of others followed them, quickly merging into the flow of traffic. Their relationship soon became the talk of the town; after all, both Xu Weihua and Kamila were quite popular in Da Mao.
Although Kamila's home wasn't large, it was warm and inviting. Her room was filled with numerous plush toys, gifts from fans and event organizers during competitions. On the display shelf next to her wardrobe, there were many small presents as well. Kamila cheerfully said, "These are all gifts from my fans."
"In the future, I want to have a huge room at home just for you to display all the gifts from your fans. They represent the affection others have for you."
