That morning, Xu Li was in the greenhouse selecting vegetables when Irina ran over with his phone. "Uncle, you have a call," she said.
Xu Li took the phone and playfully tapped it on her head. "Thanks, now go brush your teeth and wash your face."
Feeling a bit embarrassed, Irina scurried away while Xu Li answered the call. "Who is this?"
"Is this Mr. Xu Li?" a woman's voice came through the line, speaking in Mandarin. He raised an eyebrow. "Yes, what’s up?"
"I apologize for the intrusion. I’m Li Na, a reporter from Mama Tai. I’d like to interview you, if that’s convenient."
There was a brief silence on the line as Xu Li considered it before responding, "When are you coming? I can pick you up."
"That would be great, Mr. Xu. We have a flight in the morning and will contact you once we arrive in Irkutsk."
After hanging up, Xu Li tucked his phone into his pocket and continued selecting vegetables, also picking some strawberries and two large watermelons. Eva loved watermelon and grapes, while Anna preferred bananas and apples; however, bananas couldn’t be grown in Siberia, so they relied on Uncle Vasily to occasionally bring some.
Carrying the basket back to the kitchen, he washed some strawberries and headed to the living room for breakfast. He casually mentioned the upcoming interview to the sisters, who had no objections. Zhuo Ya's eyes sparkled with mischief. "I want to go to Irkutsk too! I want to shop with Irina."
"Shopping? I think you just want to buy alcohol," Anna bluntly pointed out.
"Girls these days only know how to drink and fight; where's your femininity?" she added.
Zhuo Ya stood up and spun around dramatically. "How many girls are as tall as I am? Even if I don’t drink, finding a partner is tough!"
She scooped Irina into her arms, ignoring the little lamb's struggles, and showered her with kisses on her face. "So it’s still Irina who smells so good that I like!"
Xu Li chuckled and tossed two fresh strawberries into their mouths. "Watch out or your mom will scold you!"
Zhuo Ya grinned at him playfully while Anna and Eva shook their heads and continued eating. Marina and Daria entered the living room. "Are we playing cards?"
"Come on, let’s make it four of us," Xu Li replied.
Eva quickly finished her breakfast and headed toward the study. "Misha, don’t forget to chill the watermelon!"
Xu Li smiled as he whispered something in Anna's ear, causing her to lightly hit him before she got up to go to the study. After breakfast, Zhuo Ya went off to practice shooting while Irina washed vegetables and fruits. Xu Li decided to take a stroll around the ranch and chat with Andreev about his plans for the next few days.
After handling everything, I returned home to pack my things and set off for Irkutsk with Zhuo Ya and Irina. We weren't in a hurry to travel that evening, so we took a detour to Bratsk to bring some freshly picked watermelons to Vasily, and planned to rest at his place for the night.
Mr. Xu stood beside us. Li Na was about 1.65 meters tall, and with her small heels, she barely reached 1.70 meters. She was accompanied by two assistants—one carrying a camera and the other with luggage. The photographer was about 1.90 meters tall, which would be considered quite tall back home, but standing next to Xu Li, he seemed almost diminutive.
