Shinobu Kocho felt a deeper understanding of the sword, and now she had an urge to practice. However, being held in Li Yunqing's embrace made it impossible for her to break free. In fact, she didn't really want to escape; she had started to enjoy the feeling of being held by him.
Seeing that Shinobu Kocho had absorbed all the knowledge from the Skill Book, Li Yunqing decided it was time for her to learn its skills. He took out a scarf from her Royal Ring and wrapped it around her.
"What is this?" Shinobu Kocho asked, looking at the scarf he had just placed around her neck.
"This is a scarf I enhanced. It has some special effects, like increasing your speed," he explained.
She could indeed feel her body becoming lighter. Listening to Li Yunqing's words, she took a moment to seriously assess her own physical state. Overall, she felt much lighter, and her speed seemed to have improved, though she wasn't sure by how much.
"Not just this one; everything you can wear from your ring has been enhanced by me. They will all provide you with boosts," Li Yunqing continued. "I've separated them by different levels of enhancement. You can try them out and see for yourself."
At his words, Shinobu Kocho thought of Sera and Lilu Lu. "Did Sister Sera and Lilu Lu defeat the Hashira using these kinds of gear?"
Li Yunqing shook his head. "No, Sera and Lilu Lu don’t really like using such equipment; they usually wear ordinary clothes."
"Oh, I see," Shinobu Kocho nodded in understanding.
Meanwhile, Sera and Lilu Lu overheard Shinobu Kocho's comment and playfully pinched her cheek. "We wouldn't do that! Our strength alone surpasses theirs, and adding such significant enhancements might just worsen our injuries."
Shinobu Kocho swatted away the hand that pinched her slightly sore cheek and rubbed her face. "I know! That pinch hurt a bit!"
Hearing this, Li Yunqing gently touched Shinobu Kocho's face; it was smooth but slightly flushed.
Shinobu Kocho's complexion had improved significantly.
"Really?" she asked, unable to see her own face. She lightly patted her cheeks and then examined her hands closely. The calluses from her sword training had vanished, leaving her hands smooth and delicate, almost soft to the touch.
Shinobu could hardly believe these were her hands. Noticing her actions, Li Yunqing pulled out a mirror for her to look into.
As Shinobu gazed into the mirror, she saw that her complexion had indeed brightened. Previously, her face had been somewhat pale, and although she had applied a bit of blush, it only added a hint of color. Now, it seemed that Li Yunqing had washed away the blush, revealing skin that glowed with vitality and elasticity, a soft pink hue shining through the white. Shinobu was captivated by her own reflection.
She took the mirror from Li Yunqing's hands and examined herself more closely. Li Yunqing smiled at Shinobu's fascination. After all, she was only eighteen, at an age where beauty mattered greatly. If it weren't for her sister, she wouldn't have let herself get to such a state.
Li Yunqing understood that souls existed in this world; if someone had strong attachments, they could linger for a long time—like Tanjirou's mentors. When using True Vision, he often saw faint figures surrounding others—some were reluctant or nostalgic, watching over the living. There were also resentful souls following people, perhaps those who had been killed by them.
The more he observed, the more thoughts filled his mind, prompting him to close True Vision for a moment. He considered that Shinobu's sister, Kanao Tsuyuri, must have been quite protective of her; when Shinobu was younger and alone, Kanao would surely have worried about her.
With that thought in mind, Li Yunqing activated True Vision again and scanned their surroundings. None of the five of them had souls following them since they hadn't interacted much with others. However, when he turned to look back at Shinobu, he noticed Kanao Tsuyuri smiling gently at her.
When Kanao saw Li Yunqing glance in her direction, she didn't mind; after all, she knew she was a soul and shouldn’t be seen.
