On the way home, it was already approaching afternoon. After all, Doma's skin was indeed quite tough, and it took a bit longer for the Butterfly Sisters to cut through it.
When Li Yunqing returned, several girls were still lounging on the sofa watching television. It seemed they had become quite addicted to it. Sera and Lilu Lu were snuggled up together, engrossed in the show. Ma Yi was holding Xiao Yagui, resting her chin on Xiao Yagui's head as they both watched the screen. As for Xiao Yagui, although the television caught her attention, she found sleeping to be much more comfortable.
"Are you still watching? Have you eaten?" Li Yunqing asked, prompting all three girls to look over at him, even Xiao Yagui rubbed her eyes and turned to face him.
"Honey? You're back!" The several girls instantly surrounded him, looking him up and down. Even though they knew Li Yunqing was formidable, there was still some concern in their hearts. They breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing that he was indeed fine.
"I'm fine. Have you all eaten?" Li Yunqing cooperatively allowed them to check him over before continuing to ask.
"Not yet! We were all waiting for you to come back and eat together!" The girls replied eagerly.
Hearing their responses, Li Yunqing smiled. "Then let's eat together!"
"Mm-hmm!" They all gathered around the dining table to start their meal.
As they chatted about why he had been gone for so long, Shinobu Kocho couldn't help but share their methods of torture. When she mentioned the slow slicing technique, there wasn't much of a reaction from the others. One reason was that they hadn't seen it before; another was that it involved enemies of their own sisters. They would have loved to join in and help!
"But didn’t you use your poison?" one of the girls asked. They all knew about Shinobu Kocho's deep-seated hatred for Doma; she had wanted to inflict a poison that would penetrate deeply into his bones, hoping he would consume her so they could perish together.
Shinobu Kocho shook her head at their question. "I originally planned to use it, but when I saw him being pinned down by my husband like that, I felt he didn't deserve it anymore."
Several girls began chattering again. Li Yunqing watched them with a puzzled expression, wondering why they seemed so harmonious. Sera and the other four girls didn’t need much explanation; they all understood their own situations, and there wasn’t much to discuss about their camaraderie. However, the ease with which they interacted surprised him a bit.
After all, even though the system of polygamy was gradually changing to monogamy, it was still a notable shift. He thought for a moment but decided not to say anything. It was, after all, a matter concerning himself as well.
Before long, dinner was over, and the group lounged comfortably on the sofa. Li Yunqing found himself sitting between Xiao Yagui and Shinobu Kocho, as if he had become their designated spot. They all watched television together; the drama they had been following had ended, and now there were several new series available—mostly about cultivation.
As they watched the grand scenes unfolding on screen, the girls felt a sense of longing. Li Yunqing, however, felt indifferent. His desires were gradually diminishing; these days he preferred reading novels and exploring various abilities depicted within them. Moreover, surrounded by so many beautiful women of different styles, he felt quite satisfied.
Noticing the yearning expressions on the others' faces, Li Yunqing contemplated visiting a cultivation world in the future. "Have you all thought about where you want to go next?" he asked.
The girls exchanged glances at his question. "Not yet," they replied in unison. Their opinions weren’t entirely aligned and would require further discussion to ensure everyone’s preferences were considered.
Li Yunqing nodded at their response. "No rush; take your time to think it over. But we should decide soon; we won’t be in this world for much longer."
"Really? So soon?" The girls huddled together again, chattering excitedly at Li Yunqing's words. He smiled at them before stepping out of the house.
In the past few days, the Hashira who were recovering from their injuries had all gone out. They were on a mission to hunt demons.
Previously, as Hashira, their primary goal was to eliminate demons whenever they encountered them. Now, however, they sought to find more demons, stronger ones; they aimed to locate the Demon King. No matter how many demons they exterminated, Muzan could always create more. The only way to end this cycle was to find Muzan and have him killed.
They had already faced one or two Lower Moons and could easily defeat them. Occasionally, they even encountered Upper Moons; after exchanging a few blows, the Upper Moons would flee upon seeing the Hashira.
Today, if Li Yunqing managed to kill Upper Moon Two, given Muzan's nature, he would likely summon the Upper Moons to investigate how one of their own had fallen. With someone as cunning as Muzan, he wouldn’t simply hide away, right? He was probably holed up in the Infinite Castle, where the Demon Slayer Corps couldn’t reach him.
Li Yunqing pondered for a moment; once his family decided where to go next, he would just teleport there and take care of things swiftly.
Currently, Li Yunqing was walking through the base of the Demon Slayer Corps. The members who passed by noticed he wasn’t wearing the uniform and immediately recognized him as that man. They looked at him with reverence. After all, he was the hope for ending the battle between humans and demons.
Li Yunqing greeted them with a smile in return. After walking for a while, he stopped in front of a flowerbed. The flowers inside were a vibrant array of colors. He crouched down and thought that picking a few wouldn’t hurt. Selecting a few blooms in colors he liked, he picked one for each of his family members—nothing excessive.
After admiring the flowerbed for a moment longer, Li Yunqing scattered a few seeds from other flowers as well, including some modified Azure Bianhua. The Azure Bianhua was quite beautiful but only bloomed once or twice a year. However, after modification, it could now bloom continuously for half a month.
He took six flowers but returned the favor with a new species—wasn’t that fair enough? Holding the flowers in his hands and glancing at the sky, Li Yunqing made his way home.
