"Why don't you want to?" Li Tian Ci looked at Anna with some confusion.
Anna fell silent for a moment. "I am the Supervisor. In this hall of the Supervisors, every action is scrutinized. I've seen too much—friends betraying me, leading me to witness things I shouldn't have, and then judging me for it." Her tone was filled with sarcasm.
"I never thought that my faith in the Lord would only lead to concern over what I saw, without anyone asking why I saw it in the first place. The Lord judged me guilty, and so the Clerics punished me. They gouged out my eyes for what I had seen, and they cut out my tongue for what I had known. As for my nose? That wasn't the work of the Clerics."
Li Tian Ci listened quietly, realizing that friends could indeed betray friends. "Do you still want me to be your friend?" Anna asked as she looked at him.
Li Tian Ci pondered for a moment. "I came here to be friends." He didn't understand why a friend would betray another friend; he wanted to know what this female corpse had done.
Anna remained silent upon hearing that Li Tian Ci still wished to be friends with her. Noticing her silence, he released his aura to connect with her.
It worked.
Li Tian Ci removed Anna's shackles. These shackles held special energy; an ordinary person wouldn't be able to remove them. However, with his immense power, Li Tian Ci broke them effortlessly.
Anna's body fell straight down, and Li Tian Ci caught her lifeless form. Looking around at the decaying hall, he could tell that time had passed long ago, yet Anna's body still retained the appearance it had at the moment of death.
The body still retained its elasticity, but unfortunately, it was cold. Anna's form gradually overflowed with a blue energy, which eventually coalesced into a singular entity. She became a blue version of herself. This was Anna's soul, finally liberated from the confines of her own corpse.
Anna looked at the young Li Tian Ci in front of her with a complex expression. "Thank you for helping me escape."
"We are friends; we should help each other," Li Tian Ci replied with a smile.
"By the way, now that your soul has left, what will happen to your body?"
Anna's soul had departed from the corpse, which was already showing signs of decay. She gazed at her own body; despite its deterioration, it was still hers.
"I should return. Even without eyes, I can still perceive elements clearly. And without a nose or tongue, I can still sense and see the elements around me."
With that, Anna re-entered her body, halting the signs of decay as it slowly began to move again.
Thus, a body riddled with holes and lacking eyes and a nose stood up and walked before Li Tian Ci. Timid players might have already exited the game due to their racing hearts.
Li Tian Ci watched Anna move with some interest.
Anna's aura grew stronger. Her soul and flesh had completely merged; her body preserved her soul well while harboring years of pent-up resentment, combined with an unwillingness to fade away. Overall, her strength surpassed what it had been in life.
However, she had lost her special abilities from before. Anna's uniqueness had always stemmed from her eyes.
