Ye Feihong had acquired four seeds. Three were Peashooter seeds, and one was a Carnivorous Vine seed. His luck was quite good, as he had managed to obtain a double seed drop. Unfortunately, there were no mutated seeds, which left him with a slight sense of regret.
Since the Dark Wild Boar could smell the Pumpkin Seeds, he wondered if other seeds could also attract the Dark Wild Boar. He used vines to place the Carnivorous Vine beneath the High-Rise Ruins, behind a partially collapsed wall. The area was thick with vines, and both Peashooters could attack from there.
He set down one Pea Seed and the Carnivorous Vine seed in front of the Carnivorous Vine, preparing a trap and waiting for the Dark Wild Boar to arrive. The remaining two Peashooter seeds were planted in the High-Rise Ruins.
This time, he only had to wait for a little over ten minutes. In the distance, a Dark Wild Boar came rushing toward Ye Feihong's direction. This particular Dark Wild Boar was the farthest from Heaven Gate. By the time it reached Heaven Gate, the Pumpkin Seeds would have already been devoured by several other Dark Wild Boars.
Unwilling to give up, it continued searching within Heaven Gate, hoping to find seeds that those other creatures had missed. The chances of this were slim; what made the Dark Wild Boars formidable was their long snouts, which granted them an exceptional sense of smell. Following that was their thick skin, which resembled armor. Although it caught a whiff of something, it was different from the Pumpkin Seeds it had eaten before.
A tempting aroma wafted through the air, drawing the attention of the Dark Wild Boar. It was as if a beautifully arranged platter of food, rich in fragrance, had appeared before it. The Dark Wild Boar, salivating, charged toward the two seeds that lay tantalizingly close.
In its eyes, there was nothing but those two seeds. It failed to notice its surroundings and leaped forward in a frenzy. Mid-air, several vines ensnared its body tightly. Just as the Dark Wild Boar attempted to struggle free from the grasp of the vines, the Carnivorous Vine opened its massive jaws and swallowed it whole into its Shroom.
Inside the Carnivorous Vine, a multitude of strong acids awaited, capable of rapidly corroding any creature that had been consumed. Within mere seconds, Ye Feihong felt a surge of Spiritual Energy flowing into his body. This was the resource most essential to an ordinary Farmer.
The uses of Spiritual Energy were incredibly diverse. In conventional technology, it could serve as an energy source, replacing batteries and fossil fuels. For cultivating Farm Owners, its benefits multiplied even further. Spiritual Energy functioned much like fertilizer, accelerating the growth of plants within a Farm Owner's domain and hastening their seed production.
However, these seeds could only be used by the Farmer themselves; sharing them with others was not an option.
The higher the quality of the seed, the more Spiritual Energy is required to sever the genetic binding between the seed and the Farmer. This is also why Seed Levels are so rare.
Even some powerful Farmers, whose Farm Owners span thousands of acres and who possess hundreds of thousands of plants, face challenges when they wish to give seeds to others. They must hunt down a large number of dark creatures to do so.
However, these powerful Farmers often find themselves in areas where dark creatures no longer launch attacks. Dark creatures are not entirely devoid of intelligence; they avoid confronting Farmers they cannot defeat, choosing instead to retreat rather than face certain death. Thus, the higher the seed's level, the scarcer it becomes.
