The exit of the canyon was the area where the monsters gathered most densely. All the dark creatures crowded together in the narrow valley, moving toward the direction of the Heaven Gate. With their upgraded range, the Corn Cannon could now reach this area and attack effectively. Once they left the canyon, all the dark creatures would scatter in different directions, leaving the Corn Cannon vulnerable due to its large-area attack capabilities.
Standing atop the towering War Tree, Ye Feihong kept a close watch on the situation of the Dark Creature Tide in the distance. The front line consisted of tens of thousands of dark creatures, primarily weak Zombies. Occasionally, a few towering Fat Abominations, over five meters tall and composed entirely of decaying corpses, could be seen among them.
Seeing this situation, Ye Feihong let out a sigh of relief. It seemed that the intelligence from the Imperial Guard was accurate; this wave of dark creatures was not particularly strong. Each wave varied significantly in terms of quantity and strength. Over the years, Dragon Kingdom had faced some of the most terrifying waves of dark creatures, with half of them composed of high-level beings like Mammoths, Titans, and Dragons. That time had nearly led to a breakthrough on the Western Front, resulting in heavy casualties.
However, this wave of dark creatures appeared to be quite weak—ordinary Zombies that posed no threat to Ye Feihong as a Farm Owner. After waiting for half an hour, the front line of dark creatures finally emerged from the canyon. Ye Feihong immediately issued an attack command to the Corn Cannon.
Ten corn shells, each measuring one meter in length and over twenty centimeters in diameter, were launched into the air. They arced gracefully before landing among the horde of zombies that had just emerged from the canyon, still unaware of the impending danger.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The sound of massive explosions echoed through the air. Through the telescope, Ye Feihong observed that several zombies, having just exited the valley, were instantly killed in the first wave of attack.
Dian Ling Neng.
That round of concentrated fire had actually yielded Dian Ling Neng.
Without a moment's hesitation, Ye Feihong used five Dian Ling Neng to accelerate the growth of a corn cannon seed. However, without an upgrade to its range, the corn cannon could not reach the dark creatures that had just left the canyon. It still fell short by six meters.
The biggest drawback of the corn cannon was its firing speed. Each time it generated corn shells, it required over ten seconds. During this time, thousands of dark creatures had already surged out of the canyon.
In response to their companions' deaths, these dark creatures showed no fear whatsoever. Instead, they howled loudly as over a thousand zombies desperately charged toward Heaven Gate, where Ye Feihong's farm was located.
A corn cannon, two cabbages, and two peashooters began the second wave of attack. The three types of plants had similar capabilities.
They are all similar to firearms, specifically Cannons. However, their speeds vary. The Corn Cannon has the greatest power and the widest range, but it has the slowest firing rate. A single shot from the Pea Cannon takes over ten seconds to reload. The Cabbage is positioned in the middle, with both its attack power and speed falling between the two extremes. The Peashooter has a fast attack speed, but the solid peas from the Pea Cannon have limited lethality and a small attack range.
In the second wave of attacks, there are only five plants available, making it impossible to eliminate over a thousand Dark Zombies in one go. The addition of the Dian Ling Neng helps, but due to the Corn Cannon's extremely slow attack speed, many dark creatures have breached the first two lines of defense. However, their formation is no longer dense; instead, they are being reduced to just one or two at a time due to Ye Feihong's ranged attacks, turning them into small waves of dark creatures.
