Knowing about the Brain Worm, Ye Feihong has been continuously refining the Sunlight Ability, providing a chance for seed mutations. In addition to the Concealed Pumpkin Mine Seed, Ye Feihong has cultivated another type of plant: the vine.
What keeps the Brain Worm and a large number of Dark Colossi from daring to enter Zi Wu is the Ground Spike Vine. This mutated plant lies buried underground, and when a creature walks above it, the Ground Spike Vine will thrust out sharp spikes, piercing any living being on the surface.
Each Ground Spike Vine can grow up to two meters long, with spikes emerging every meter. This means that a single attack from the Ground Spike Vine can potentially eliminate two enemies. This is the first large-scale melee attack plant that Ye Feihong has acquired.
Upon seeing this mutated Vine Seed, Ye Feihong no longer worried about the upcoming siege. The remaining Spiritual Energy in his possession was mostly used to produce these Ground Spike Vines capable of melee attacks, with only a small portion allocated to crafting Concealed Pumpkin Mines. The limitations were too great. If the Brain Worm did not venture near the Concealed Pumpkin Mines, these mines would have no effect whatsoever. However, the Ground Spike Vine was different. This plant showed no fear of the Zi Wu; in fact, it could be said that the Zi Wu provided effective protection for the Ground Spike Vine.

As a large number of dark creatures were being killed within the Zi Wu—Brain Worms, Mammoths, and Dark Colossi—they could do nothing but remain obediently on the outskirts of the Zi Wu. The Mammoths served as meat shields; attacking was not their forte. The Dark Colossi relied on powerful High-Temperature Lasers for long-range firepower strikes.
The Zi Wu countered all forms of ranged weaponry, including the long-distance attacks from dark creatures. In this way, the Zi Wu actually protected the Ground Spike Vine from being killed by the Dark Colossi. Although the vines reached two meters in length, they possessed no offensive capabilities and could only attack within their limited two-meter range.
Without the Zi Wu, the Dark Colossi could easily use their lasers to pierce through the soil and kill the Ground Spike Vines inside. But with the Zi Wu deployed by the Brain Worm, that was no longer an option.
The area became a protective shield for Ye Feihong's Ground Spike Vines. Inside the Zi Wu, it was not that the dark creatures were invincible, but rather that Ye Feihong's Ground Spike Vines could unleash their attacks without restraint. Each time the thorny roots emerged from the ground, they took away a significant number of dark creatures.
Ye Feihong had produced a total of two thousand of these Mutated Thorn Vines. These Ground Spike Vines were melee attackers, capable of ignoring the long-range strikes from Zi Wu. With their first full-force attack, they could kill tens of thousands of dark creatures. This was not only due to the sheer number of Ye Feihong's Ground Spike Vines but also because the dark creatures were densely packed.
In the last three instances of Zi Wu, Brain Worm had concentrated them between two Forward Bunkers and the walls of Ye Feihong's Farm. This area happened to be where Ye Feihong's Ground Spike Vines were most densely located, coinciding with where the dark creatures gathered.
A few minutes later, as the purple mist dispersed, there were no dark creatures left in front of Ye Feihong's Farm Owner.
