In the underground cave, guided by the mage, they easily found the path leading to the lower levels. Ye Feihong did not require the legendary method for navigating mazes. At that moment, they finally saw what lay ahead. On the ground before them lay a massive demon, its body stretching several dozen meters long. It resembled a giant maggot, oozing a viscous green liquid from its entire form.
The Mage said, "Be careful, this is a Poison King. Its poison-based magic is very powerful."
The Dwarf Sniper immediately drew his gun. "Aim," he commanded, activating his Assassination Skill.
A wound opened on the Poison King's body, and a large pool of green blood flowed out. However, the Assassination Skill did not kill it.
The Poison King let out an angry roar, curling its body into a ball and rolling toward the group.
"We need to retreat quickly," the Mage urged. "If we get touched by its venom, it will be very difficult to purify with magic."
Killing the Poison King itself wasn't too difficult. The real challenge was doing so without being contaminated by its venom. This large, fleshy creature was covered in toxic liquid; if its skin were pierced, a massive amount of venom would spray out.
This meant that engaging it in close combat without getting poisoned was nearly impossible. In such a cramped cave, relying on kite tactics and ranged attacks to slowly wear it down wouldn't work either.
Thus, the Mage proposed a retreat. There were only a dozen of them from the Dark Humanity, while the number of Dark Demons exceeded millions.
