The night was as quiet as a heavy black cloth, pressing down on the place known as Green Town. Alice lay in bed, her eyes wide open, gazing through the small window at the twinkling stars in the night sky. 0

Tonight, the stars seemed unusually restless, their brilliant points flickering as if they were dancing uneasily, radiating an aura Alice had never felt before. Her heartbeat quickened inexplicably, an invisible force flowing slowly through her veins, cold yet fiery. 0

Suddenly, a shooting star streaked across the sky, its dazzling light illuminating the entire night. Startled, Alice sat up, but in the instant the meteor vanished, she distinctly saw a shadow flash by along its trajectory—a massive, twisted bird that exuded a chilling aura of evil. 0

Alice rubbed her eyes, thinking she must have seen it wrong. Yet when she looked back at the night sky, the stars appeared even more agitated. Strange symbols suddenly flashed in her mind, glowing faintly with blue light as if alive, weaving through her consciousness. 0

"What is happening?" Alice whispered to herself, an inexplicable fear rising within her. She hugged her arms tightly around herself, trying to calm down. 0

At that moment, a low growl echoed from outside, like some beast roaring in the darkness. Alice's face turned pale; she knew that this peaceful little town was about to be engulfed in an unknown danger. 0

After a moment of hesitation, she decided to get out of bed and investigate. She quietly slipped on her shoes, picked up the candlestick resting by her bedside, and slowly walked toward the door. As her hand grasped the doorknob, the growl sounded again—this time clearer and closer than before. 0

Taking a deep breath, Alice flung open the door. A cold wind rushed in, causing the candle flame to flicker violently as if it might extinguish at any moment. Holding the candlestick aloft, she cautiously stepped outside and scanned her surroundings with anxious eyes. 0

In the darkness, pairs of red eyes flickered like will-o'-the-wisps, slowly approaching her… 0

Alice stepped back in terror, her hands trembling slightly as the candlelight wavered in the wind, casting eerie shadows that made those figures lurking in darkness appear even more terrifying. The owners of those eyes gradually revealed themselves—monsters covered in black scales, resembling wolves but much larger. Saliva dripped from their mouths as their sharp fangs glinted ominously in the dim light. 0

Alice wanted to scream for help, but her throat felt constricted as if something were choking her; only a faint sound escaped her lips. Her legs felt weak beneath her; she could barely stand. Just then, an arrow sliced through the night sky with a faint green glow and struck one of the monsters squarely in its eye. The creature let out a piercing scream while its companions paused in shock at this sudden attack. 0

Following the direction of the arrow's flight, Alice saw a figure partially hidden at the edge of the woods. It was a tall man holding an exquisite longbow and carrying a sword on his back. His ears were long and pointed, glinting softly in the moonlight—it was an elf. 0

"Run!" shouted the elven man in a clear and powerful voice. Alice felt as though she had suddenly awakened from a nightmare and turned to flee toward the center of town. But those monsters quickly recovered from their brief shock and roared as they chased after her. 0
