Lu Youyou's heart raced violently, pumping blood to her brain and disrupting her thoughts. It felt as if she were intoxicated, her feet light and unsteady. A gift? This guy had been busy at the research facility and still managed to prepare a present for her?
An overwhelming sense of surprise and indescribable emotion surged within her as Lu Youyou hurried forward. "Is this an album?"

As for how the album came to be? It was simply a collection of screenshots. With a little investment, he could purchase the service from the company. They even allowed free streaming of the drama Not Allowed to Fall in Love.
While watching and selecting suitable scenes, he painstakingly compiled this album. Although watching himself perform in a film and television drama was awkward enough to make him want to dig his toes into the floor, the end result was worth it.
Lu Youyou could hardly wait to flip it open, and she was immediately taken aback by what she saw.
The first photo featured the now-destroyed Gene Building in the background—a rare shot capturing both Lu Youyou and Xu Lie together. At that moment, they were still strangers to each other; how had this photo come to be?
She continued flipping through the pages, revealing images of Xu Lie confronting danger alongside Lu Youyou and another of him guiding her to safety amidst chaos.
Lu Youyou felt increasingly delighted as she reminisced about the little moments they had shared. A smile crept onto her lips, and she thought, Does Xu Lie even know?
During the early days after they met, she would stare at her phone screen every day, gazing at the only photo they had together. Her eyes softened like water as she caressed the picture. "How did you manage to take this?" she wondered aloud.
Xu Lie had already prepared an excuse. "Don't forget about the Smart Mini Robot," he reminded her.
At his prompt, Lu Youyou recalled that little gadget and nodded in understanding, continuing to look through the photos with renewed enthusiasm. Huh? She wasn’t going to ask more?
Xu Lie had thought of a whole story to tell if Lu Youyou inquired about why he had taken her picture so early on—something about needing a backup or whatever. But now she seemed content not to ask. Glancing at Lu Youyou's uncontainable joy, Xu Lie couldn’t help but smile too. It was better this way; as long as this silly girl was happy.
Once Lu Youyou finished flipping through the album, she held it close to her chest, reluctant to let go. "But I didn’t know you were coming," she said, a hint of regret in her voice. "I didn’t prepare anything."
She felt guilty seeing how Xu Lie, even while confined in the research facility and busy with his work, still managed to prepare gifts for her. Meanwhile, she had nothing to offer him.
Xu Lie waved off her concerns, knowing his arrival was unexpected. "You don’t need to worry about that. Just treating me to a meal would be enough."
