The terrifying light and heat were released in an instant, igniting the entire Transport Ship!
Light, an unparalleled brilliance, shone with a scorching intensity that could blind anyone who looked directly at it. Heat, reaching temperatures close to the surface of a celestial star, was so intense it could char steel cargo ships and melt them into crystalline glass.
The explosive hurricane raged outward in all directions, creating a Shockwave that obliterated everything in its path, shattering surrounding Containers and their contents. The violent expansion of the shockwave blew away forklifts parked on the shore, severed the Dragon Gate Crane, and forced the Transport Ship to sink into the sea. It evaporated some seawater and scorched parts of the port floor.
Accompanying this was a tremendous Sound Wave that exceeded the human ear's capacity for decibels, bombarding the surroundings without mercy. The Electromagnetic fallout from the Nuclear Explosion incapacitated the entire port; what had been a brightly lit harbor was plunged into darkness in an instant, electrical devices exploding in showers of sparks before becoming useless.
After the initial light and heat faded, a thick plume of smoke coalesced into a small Mushroom Cloud that ascended into the sky. It was a darkness deeper than night itself; even in the fully illuminated port, it could be clearly seen against the backdrop of dusk.
This spectacle certainly thrilled the audience, with Danmaku raining down like waterfalls, unstoppable and relentless.
"I'm sorry; I need to apologize to the production team. I actually guessed there would be a bomb disposal expert coming to prevent the Nuclear Explosion in the first episode. I never expected they would dare to film it—there's really a Nuclear Explosion scene!"
"This Nuclear Explosion is a bit underwhelming, though. How come it didn’t destroy even one port?"
"Come on, it's just a Tactical Nuclear Weapon; it's not one of those massive ones. This scenario is meant for localized battlefields with thousands or tens of thousands involved; it can't have too wide a range."
"Who cares if it's tactical or strategic? As long as it's exciting! This Nuclear Explosion and this Mushroom Cloud are absolutely exhilarating!"
While the audience reveled in excitement, members of the Investigation Bureau and those from Serpent's Bite were in tears, looking as if they had lost their minds.
"We made it out! We actually escaped!!"
"I survived! I survived the Nuclear Explosion?"
"Oh! Divine Being, I must become a devout believer from now on! Thank you for granting me life once more!"
In the vehicles of Black and White at the port, emotions ran high with joy over surviving disaster. Anthony did not comfort his subordinates; he knew he had more important matters to attend to. Turning to his Confidant beside him, he said, "We need someone to keep watch at the port."
Seeing his Confidant's puzzled expression, Anthony maintained a serious demeanor: "I know there is still radiation lingering there."
But there was no need for excessive worry; with this scale of Tactical Nuclear Weapon, the radiation range was fixed. As long as you stayed away from the port, you would be safe.
Just keeping an eye on the perimeter will suffice. No matter who smuggled that Tactical Nuclear Weapon in, since it has already been set to detonate on a timer, it’s highly likely someone will come to input the code and deactivate it. I need someone to help me find out who dares to transport a nuclear weapon into the metropolis!
The Confidant understood the Director's words perfectly. Gritting his teeth, he thought that it was just a Tactical Nuclear Weapon, after all; the blast radius wasn't that large. Even if the radiation was terrifying, surely he could avoid going in?
"Director, I’ll go!"
Anthony patted the Confidant's shoulder with a sense of reassurance and said solemnly, "In the future, we’ll be relying on you all."
The stakes were indeed high and enticing. Understanding the underlying meaning, the Confidant, who had just escaped from a dire situation, immediately saluted and decisively went around to open the door for Anthony.
After Anthony got out of the car, the Confidant drove back to the port with renewed determination.
Meanwhile, in the Extended Luxury Car, Charles noticed this scene and called over an officer, instructing him to send someone to follow and see what was going on.
Anthony, that old fox—what scheme is he up to now?
