The Great Federation, specifically the Sherwood District, is home to the headquarters of the Military-Industrial Complex. This place can be described as the stronghold of the Military-Industrial Complex, fortified like a steel barrel, impenetrable and unyielding.
Logically speaking, if the Arms Tycoons were to remain here, it would be nearly impossible for the higher-ups of the Great Federation to capture them. However, humans are always yearning for freedom, and the Arms Tycoons are no exception; it is their norm to seek entertainment far and wide.
Only Old John, who is infatuated with power and too old to have the energy to roam around, tends to stay near the headquarters. Activating his Optical Camouflage, he quietly approached Xu Lie nearby and deactivated the UFO's cloaking mode, revealing himself in mid-air.
To the outside world, his sudden appearance was indistinguishable from a miraculous manifestation. In the moments just before the UFO revealed itself, no one noticed. It was only when someone looked up and saw the sky darkening that they exclaimed that classic line: "Look! A UFO!"
Nearby people scoffed at this joke: "Such tricks can't fool even children anymore! Is that really a UFO?!"
"What? A UFO? An alien life UFO? The kind that has appeared in Metropolis?!"
"Run! The aliens are here to experiment on us!"
Within half a minute of the UFO's appearance, chaos erupted below as people scattered in all directions without any order. Some calmly rushed towards the underground parking lot while others panicked and dashed into a nearby convenience store, slamming the door shut behind them.
About five minutes later, the street beneath the UFO was completely deserted. Xu Lie had driven this contraption in such a way that it created an effect akin to a ghost town.
The UFO hovered right in front of the Military Industry building, and several Arms Tycoons who received reports were quite excited. Had they succeeded? Had their efforts successfully attracted Alien Life?
Without much thought, the Arms Tycoons hurriedly instructed their subordinates to go outside and welcome the visitors. Their subordinates were terrified, genuinely fearing they would become experimental subjects as soon as they stepped outside.
However, with the wealth and means of the Arms Tycoons, bonuses were handed out on a whim, causing their subordinates to forget all fear and rush out to greet the aliens.
Inside the UFO, Xu Lie temporarily ignored the reactions from the Military Industry building and instead received contact from Anthony: "What’s going on?"
Xu Lie understood well that Anthony's character as a Bionic Person meant he and Charles usually reported daily at fixed times. They would only reach out directly if something urgent had occurred.
"Yes, sir," Anthony replied with a serious tone as he shared his latest findings. "I have been using a Hacker Program to monitor everyone at the upper echelons of the Great Federation."
Then, it was discovered that members of the Hawk Faction had secretly dispatched Special Forces operatives to the Great Federation, Sherwood District. The Special Forces had not received a specific mission; they were only instructed to disguise themselves as civilians and get as close as possible to the Military-Industrial Complex Building. The specific task required the Special Forces Captain to remain on standby for orders from higher-ups.
Considering that you are currently located near the Military Industry Building, whether these Hawk Faction members intend to launch a surprise attack on the building or assassinate you, I must report this matter. Who are they coming for? This was Xu Lie's first reaction.
Xu Lie trusted his instincts and maintained constant communication with Anthony, activating the UFO's scanning function. Sure enough, he detected hidden Special Forces members on the rooftops of several nearby buildings. He also scanned their equipment, noting that they were well-armed with rifles and other weapons. Unfamiliar with Alien Technology, the Special Forces members remained unaware of their exposure, peering out from the windows to secretly observe the UFO.
