I continued scrolling down until I saw Qin Sheng's number.
Gritting my teeth, I dialed it.
A sultry female voice came through the line.
Qin Sheng asked impatiently, "What is it?"
I tightened my grip on the phone. "I almost had a miscarriage today."
There was a brief pause on the other end.
Qin Sheng asked, "Did you manage to keep the baby?"
His tone was calm.
There was no surprise, no anger.
It was as if he were inquiring about a stranger's affairs.
I struggled to reply, "Yes, I did."
"But the doctor said I can't handle any more stress; it might be difficult for me to conceive another child."
I thought Qin Sheng would at least feel sad about this.
After all, this was his only child!
But Qin Sheng asked, "What exactly do you want to say?"
"You used to handle the test tube alone without any issues, so why do you need me now?"
“Qi Yun, I’m not a doctor!”
“And besides, I have something to attend to right now.”
As she spoke, a series of hurried gasps echoed through the air.
My heart ached.
“Qin Sheng, I’m your wife. I’m pregnant now. Can’t you come and check on me?”
Qin Sheng snorted coldly, “What’s there to check? I’m not an obstetrician!”
“And didn’t I just say? I have something to do!”
After being discharged from the hospital, I returned home.
As soon as I opened the door, I spotted a pair of unfamiliar high heels.
Qin Sheng brought Liu Yanyan back?
They were frolicking inside.
Water was splashed all over the floor.
Qin Sheng leaned down, pinning her against the sofa, kissing her collarbone.
He completely ignored the sound of the door opening.
“A Sheng.”
Liu Yanyan wrapped her arms around his neck, exhaling softly.
Qin Sheng frowned, “What’s wrong?”
Liu Yanyan pointed at the antique vase on the table. "I want to take a look."
Qin Sheng stood up and personally took it down for her.
Liu Yanyan caressed the blue-and-white porcelain vase and suddenly asked, "If I smashed it, would you blame me?"
Qin Sheng playfully pinched her cheek. "Of course I would."
"However, I would be more concerned about whether your hand would get hurt."
Liu Yanyan smiled mischievously. "You’re so bad."
In the next moment, she shattered the valuable vase into pieces.
I stood at the door, frozen in place.
This home no longer felt like my sanctuary.
It had become a playground for Qin Sheng and Liu Yanyan.
I had run through more than a dozen shops to find this antique vase, finally selecting one that I was satisfied with.
Both Qin Sheng and I had a fondness for things with an old-world charm.
Little did I know that my efforts would become a joke in someone else's eyes.
Liu Yanyan's capriciousness, along with Qin Sheng's indulgence, turned my years of dedication into a laughingstock.
Breathless, Liu Yanyan leaned against Qin Sheng. "I'm so tired."
"I don't want to move anymore."
Qin Sheng pinched her cheek. "Then just rest well."
"Tonight, I have a big surprise for you," he said.
Liu Yanyan's cheeks flushed. "What is it?"
Qin Sheng spoke mysteriously, "You'll find out when you go."
The two of them were flirting, completely oblivious to my presence.
Suddenly, a memory struck me.
When Qin Sheng and I had just gotten married, we had shared moments like this, filled with sweetness.
Every day after work, he would find various excuses to make me laugh.
I never expected that he would now use those same tricks on another woman.
I leaned against the doorframe, my heart a mix of emotions.
Once, I considered this place our love nest.
Now, it had turned into a playground for him and another woman.
And I was just an outsider.
A Sheng heard the sounds from the entrance and looked up.
