"What are you doing here?" I asked.
Zhao Yue looked at me with a face full of guilt.
"Woman, I want to take you away."
Hearing Zhao Yue's words, I was momentarily taken aback.
"Why?"
Zhao Yue hesitated, struggling to find the right words.
But his gaze lingered on my belly.
"Is it because I'm pregnant?"
Zhao Yue nodded, acknowledging his thoughts.
"I don't want my child to be born without a father."
Upon hearing Zhao Yue's words, I fell silent.
In the past, I would have certainly agreed with Zhao Yue's sentiment.
However, after everything that had happened, I no longer dared to trust anyone.
The situation with Sun Qian had taught me a crucial lesson.
If I wanted true freedom, I could only rely on myself!
"What do you propose we do?"
Zhao Yue spoke in a low voice:
"Tomorrow Uncle Liang Wu will be out of town delivering goods, leaving only Sun Qian at home..."
"At that time, I'll take you away..."
