"Uncle Li?"
"Xiao Ting! You're back too! You've grown stronger, looking quite handsome!"
"Uncle Li," who was once a subordinate of Gu Ting's father, greeted warmly.
"Ting Ge!"
Behind Uncle Li stood a beautiful woman with a radiant smile.
Gu Ting recognized her as Uncle Li's daughter and nodded in acknowledgment, not lingering on her for long before turning to enter the house.
"Old Li has arrived? Come in, just in time for a drink!"
"You old rascal! Oh, Little Li is here too, come sit down!"
It was evident that both Gu Dad and Yu Ba were delighted by the arrival of their old comrade.
Li Li appeared well-behaved as she sat beside her father, but her eyes kept darting toward Gu Ting and Yu Songyu.
Although Li Li had known the two since childhood, their relationship wasn't as close as that between Yu Songyu and Gu Ting.
Noticing her constant scrutiny, Yu Songyu could only respond with an awkward smile.
Perhaps it was a woman's intuition, but Yu Songyu felt that Li Li didn't seem to harbor much goodwill toward her.
As the elders reminisced, Gu Ting worried that Yu Songyu might find it dull. Plus, with Li Li present, they both felt a bit out of place and decided to excuse themselves from the dining table.
Moreover, he understood his father's earlier hints well enough. He knew how much his father liked Xiao Yu.

Li Li sat beside him, scrutinizing him like a scanner, making him feel uncomfortable all over. Just as they both stood up, Uncle Li spoke up.
"Xiao Ting, Xiao Yu, if you go out to play, take Xiao Li along for a stroll!"
Gu Qi felt a bit displeased upon hearing this. He thought to himself, does this old man have any sense? His son and future daughter-in-law going out to have fun, and he wants to bring along a third wheel?
"Uncle Li, Li Li just arrived. Let her eat first. Ting Ge and I are just going out for a bit; we'll be back soon!"
During the festive season, Yu Songyu didn't want to create any trouble for himself, so he had to brush it off. Besides, whether he went out or came back was entirely up to him. When the time came, he could just say he forgot; it was that simple!
Gu Ting gave Yu Songyu an approving glance and without saying a word, grabbed his wrist and headed out.
Yu Songbai initially wanted to join them but had to obediently stay behind when he received a warning look from Yu Qi.
These two kids really matched well; the more one looked at them, the more suitable they seemed!
Gu Qi's words were deliberately directed at Uncle Li. He noticed that Li Li looked at his son with unusual eyes. Sure enough, upon hearing Gu Qi's words, Li Li's expression darkened.
As for the children's matters, it was best for the adults not to meddle too much. Everyone has been young before; let them figure things out on their own!
Gu Qianzhou understood what his daughter-in-law meant and couldn't let Uncle Li lose face either. He had no choice but to smooth things over.
