Sigh, I've been so busy lately that I forgot. Besides, he’s been in the space and hasn’t gone out, so I didn’t think much of it.

The next morning, after breakfast, Yu Suihuan was playing in the yard with Wang Yan when they heard shouting from outside the gate.

“Let me do it!”
Seeing Yu Suihuan holding a few dry branches, Huo Yaojun stepped forward.
“No need, just a few branches. I can handle it!”

Gu Yaojun smiled as he took the branches and walked alongside Yu Suihuan.
“By the way, aren’t you going hunting?”

Huo Yaojun chuckled and tossed the firewood onto the ground.
“Have you ever hunted before?”
His words reminded Yu Suihuan of Yang Qinghe. She recalled a winter when they chased rabbits in the snow.
Noticing Yu Suihuan’s silence, Huo Yaojun felt a twinge of sympathy. He had heard stories about her and guessed that someone might occupy her heart.
“Well, I guess I’ve hunted a bit!”
“Oh? So you’re an experienced hunter! Take me along to learn something!”
“Don’t joke around! I’m not that capable!”
"It's fine, let's take a walk over there. Who knows, we might get lucky and find something for lunch today," he suggested.
Yu Suihuan hesitated for a moment, glancing around and realizing that there was not a single person in sight. The others had all gone off to do their own things without her noticing.
Well, it would be boring to be alone anyway; it might be better to go with him.
"Watch your step, the ground is slippery!"
The path ahead was a bit treacherous, and one could easily slip if not careful. The man reached out his hand, signaling that he wanted to help Yu Suihuan up.
"No need, I can manage this little bit of road on my own," she replied confidently. But before she could finish her sentence, her foot slipped, and she stumbled forward.
"Ah!"
The man reacted quickly, taking a large step forward to catch her securely.
"Thank you!"
Yu Suihuan felt embarrassed as she straightened up, instinctively keeping her distance from him. That was quite the unexpected fall.
The man looked at Yu Suihuan's flushed face and found her adorably charming.
Huo Yaojun plucked a few leaves from a tree and took out a small package from his pocket.
"What’s this?" Yu Suihuan asked curiously.
"This is meat!"
She watched as he revealed the small pieces of meat wrapped in oiled paper. Huo Yaojun skillfully took a small twig and skewered the meat pieces onto it. Then he expertly shaped the freshly picked leaves into a funnel and secured them with the skewer holding the meat.
