After finishing their drinks, they felt refreshed and quenched. Yang Qinghe's voice was hoarse, and his gentle kisses fell like raindrops on Yu Suihuan's neck. Without needing to say much, the two of them swayed together in love throughout the night.
The next morning, before either of them had gotten out of bed, they heard the urgent ringing of a bell from outside the door. This bell was designed by Yu Suihuan herself; since the courtyard was large, sometimes knocking on the door outside wouldn’t be heard inside.
So, she had bought some thin steel wires that extended from the main door to every room, with a bell at each end. This way, whenever someone rang the bell at the front door, it could be heard in every corner of the courtyard.
“Yang Qinghe, go open the door!” Yu Suihuan turned over and slipped out of Yang Qinghe's embrace, giving his chest a gentle push.
“Alright, I’ll go!” Yang Qinghe got up but not before planting a kiss on Yu Suihuan's cheek.
“Quickly go open the door!” Yu Suihuan blushed and shot him a glare.
Yang Qinghe chuckled and was just about to step out when he heard Yu Suihuan's voice call out again.
“Hey? What’s wrong?” He turned around, looking at her curiously.
Yu Suihuan bit her lip, hesitating before speaking. “You... you come back quickly, let’s continue!”
After saying this, she felt herself turning crimson with embarrassment, worried that he might misunderstand her as being unsatisfied. She quickly buried herself under the covers, wrapping herself tightly.
Yang Qinghe found it amusing; the young girl was both shy and earnest in her actions, leaving him quite helpless. However, he felt good physically at the moment; even though their frequency had increased a bit, he could still keep up.
He stepped forward and gently patted the bulging quilt, landing squarely on the little girl's bottom. Feeling her body shiver slightly, Yang Qinghe's lips curled into a gentle smile.
"Alright, it will be here soon," Yang Qinghe said softly, his voice filled with affection.
Yang Qingping had no time to linger; after handing the lunchbox to Yang Qinghe, she hurried off. Her younger brother was getting married, and with such a significant event, how could she not be anxious?
Not just her—once the news of their marriage reached Yu Suihuan's father and Shi Gou Village, both sides were like ants on a hot pan, frantically packing their things to rush over.
The young couple seemed at ease while everyone else was in a frenzy!
"Come on, Old Yu, hurry up! How am I supposed to carry all this? It won't fit!" Yu Suihuan's Qi Qin exclaimed, flustered as she scrambled to gather their belongings while urging Yu Bei.
"Look at you, don’t rush! You're so flustered that you can't even get everything," Yu Fu complained, though his hands never stopped moving as he quickly stuffed items into a bag.
"How can I not be anxious? Yu Suihuan is about to get married! I haven't prepared anything yet; I'm about to lose my mind!"
"If it were up to me, I’d say don’t prepare anything. Just bring enough money and let the young couple buy whatever they want; that’s better than anything!"
"That’s not the same! Of course we need to give money, but we also need to show our intentions!"
Meanwhile, Shi Gou Village was experiencing the same chaos.
"These two kids should have given us a heads-up so we could prepare," Grandma grumbled as she packed.
"Who can argue with that? Old Sister, don’t be too anxious; the kids have their own plans. We shouldn’t worry too much," another elder replied.
"This girl usually handles things quite well; why is she in such a hurry this time? It’s like her backside is on fire!" Zhao Lian Zhi exclaimed. "Hurry up and bring my embroidered pair of dragon and phoenix pillowcases!"
Though the two grandmothers continued to complain, their faces betrayed an undeniable joy.
