The bathroom fell completely silent, and Qian Yao Tiao stood frozen at the door, as if nailed in place. 0

In reality, she had only caught a fleeting glimpse, seeing nothing but a vague outline and missing all the key details entirely. 0

Her cheeks burned as she frantically repeated in her mind, "I didn't see anything, I didn't see anything..." 0

She comforted herself for a while until the bathroom door creaked open. 0

Wei Junzi emerged wrapped in a towel, his hair still dripping with water. He approached her with an air of calm and raised an eyebrow, asking, "Did you bring back something to eat?" 0

"N-no... I forgot..." Qian Yao Tiao lowered her head, her toes nervously scuffing the floor. Her voice was barely above a whisper, like a mosquito buzzing. "I'll just order takeout." 0

Wei Junzi's gaze lingered on her flushed face for a moment before he probed thoughtfully, "Were you just daydreaming again?" 0

"No!" Qian Yao Tiao straightened up instantly, unconsciously clenching the hem of her clothes. Her eyes darted left and right, giving off an air of guilt. 0

"Really? I'm starving now; let's eat dinner first." 0

With a half-smile, Wei Junzi fixed his gaze on her, watching as she picked up her phone, her fingers trembling slightly as she ordered takeout. 0

When the food arrived, he devoured it in no time, leaving more than half of the juice in his cup. 0

"Come here." Wei Junzi beckoned her with a finger, looking much like someone calling their pet. There was a glint of mischief in his eyes, as if he was plotting something devious. 0

Qian Yao Tiao walked over slowly, holding the cup. Taking a deep breath, she finally confessed, “I remember now, you’re the one I accidentally splashed with juice at the book signing two months ago. I’m really sorry about that… I didn’t mean to embarrass you in front of so many readers and media. If you still want to take revenge, feel free to throw this juice at me!” 0

“To be honest, if it weren’t for your ‘great feat’ back then, I wouldn’t have wanted to take on this hot potato. I was worried about not making any money and wasting a lot of time,” Wei Junzi replied, crossing his arms and snorting a few times. 0

Recalling how the sticky juice had dripped down his shirt, he, someone with a mild obsession with cleanliness and a strong sense of pride, nearly lost it on the spot. At that moment, he had secretly vowed to get back at her. 0

Qian Yao Tiao froze in place as she felt the cup gently pulled from her hands. Suddenly, she felt warmth on her lips—Wei Junzi had kissed her. 0

As the kiss ended, Qian Yao Tiao’s mind went blank, and she stammered, “What… what does this mean?” 0

“Aren’t you supposed to have a vivid imagination? If you think it means something, then it does,” Wei Junzi said with a smirk. 0

Not long after, Editor Wu Qi received the manuscript and was all smiles. He reached out to pat Qian Yao Tiao on the shoulder but was quickly blocked by Wei Junzi’s swift hand. 0

Wu Qi awkwardly chuckled and said, “Um… Mr. Wei, our company will pay your fee from the manuscript’s earnings.” 0

Wei Junzi nodded without saying much, appearing indifferent to money. Seeing this, Wu Qi quickly changed the subject: “Ahem, Qian Yao Tiao, I’ve arranged a book signing event for you in the city, scheduled for the day after tomorrow. You can invite Mr. Wei to join you; you can settle payment when you return.” 0

“I’m fine with that,” Qian Yao Tiao thought; as long as they didn’t rush her for the manuscript, she was okay with anything—even if signing books until her hand cramped was exhausting. 0

Wei Junzi readily agreed as well, “I’ll be there on time.” 0
