Upon hearing Jiang Chen's words, Brower's smile faded, replaced by a chilling demeanor.
"What conditions? It's impossible. If you're here for the Divine Bone Order, you can leave now," Brower replied with a stern expression.
"How about one billion dollars? I believe that the value of one billion dollars far exceeds that of the Divine Bone Order. Since you possess the Divine Bone Order, you should understand that its significance is not as great as you might think," Jiang Chen said, hoping to resolve the matter with money.
"One billion dollars?" Brower's expression shifted slightly, a hint of surprise crossing his face. After all, he was a businessman and had some knowledge of Huaxia. To be honest, in such a vast Huaxia, there were only a handful of companies capable of producing one billion dollars. He found it hard to believe that Jiang Chen, a martial artist from Huaxia, could come up with such an amount.
Moreover, Jiang Chen was correct; although the Divine Bone Order was a divine artifact, it currently held less value than one billion dollars for their blood clan.
Brower pondered this, weighing the pros and cons. Business was tough these days, and their large blood clan relied heavily on his company for support, which made things quite challenging. One billion dollars was indeed no small sum.
However, the Divine Bone Order was still one of the clan's treasured artifacts; he didn't have the authority to make such a decision without consulting the Blood Ancestor.
After hesitating for a moment, Brower's blue eyes fixed on Jiang Chen as he said, "If it were five billion dollars, I could consider it."
Although Jiang Chen was not short on money, adding up all his assets would barely reach that amount. Five billion was out of the question.
"It's just one billion dollars. The Divine Bone Order originally belongs to Huaxia; having fallen into your blood clan's hands, it's merely an antique of slightly greater rarity for you. The most expensive antique in history has never exceeded ten million dollars, right? Offering you one billion dollars is already my limit," Jiang Chen replied calmly.
Even when dealing with Hongmen's exorbitant demands, he had only asked for one billion dollars after they repeatedly failed to appreciate his worth and had even arranged for them to pay in installments over ten years. Yet now this blood clan wanted five billion dollars.
"No negotiations under five billion," Brower waved his hand dismissively, ready to kick him out. He knew that asking for five billion was unreasonable but wanted to put Jiang Chen in a difficult position.
"Mr. Jiang, let's go. I told you the Divine Bone Order is not for sale. Even if you could buy it for one billion dollars, I feel it's not worth it; my collaboration would be more beneficial for you. You wouldn't have to spend any money, and I could even give you some," Monroe whispered, pulling at Jiang Chen to leave.
But Jiang Chen did not move; instead, he sat back comfortably in the chair at Brower's desk.
"I already said no negotiations under five billion; why are you still here?" Brower frowned, feeling that Jiang Chen seemed to be looking for trouble.
"Actually, I've changed my mind; one billion is too high—let's make it five hundred million," Jiang Chen smiled.
Brower blinked in surprise, thinking he must have misheard.
"Five hundred million? Are you joking?" Brower said coldly.
"Then how about fifty million?" Jiang Chen suggested again.
"What do you mean? Are you deliberately trying to provoke me?" Brower's expression darkened as he realized Jiang Chen's intent.
"If you don't agree soon, you might end up with nothing and still have to hand over the Divine Bone Order to me," Jiang Chen said with a calm smile, completely unfazed.
