Legend has it that in ancient times, several gods joined forces to seal the Blood Demon in this place, while the Blood Ancestor resided in the underground caverns. His purpose was twofold: to enhance his power through the Blood Demon Aura and to research how to break the seal and release the Blood Demon.
Now, with the fall of the gods and their unknown whereabouts, humanity has risen, growing stronger through technology. If the Blood Demon were to break free from its seal, it would herald a time of great power for the blood clan.
Unfortunately, after hundreds of years of research in the caverns, the Blood Ancestor found no way to unravel the seal left by the gods. However, he did develop a formation called the Blood Demon Suppression Formation, which could utilize the power of the Blood Demon to achieve the goal of subduing gods through the existing seal.
Though he spoke boldly about its capabilities, whether it could truly subdue a god remained uncertain. The Blood Ancestor was confident enough in his formation to wager against Jiang Chen, believing that Jiang Chen could not possibly be more formidable than a god. His formation could subdue deities; surely it could handle a mere human? No matter how powerful human magic might be, it was still bound by flesh and blood, unable to withstand the might of the Blood Demon.
Jiang Chen stood on the surface of the sea, where at that moment, everything was eerily calm. Suddenly, the Blood Ancestor dove into the ocean. Instantly, bubbles erupted from a ten-mile radius around the island as if boiling water had been unleashed. Waves of Blood Qi surged forth amidst these bubbles, spreading across the sea and rising up to obscure the sky.
Jiang Chen's expression shifted slightly as he felt a sense of gravity settle over him. This Blood Qi was at least ten times stronger than that of the Blood Ancestor. He glanced at Ma'erka trapped in her icy prison and waved his hand; the ice melted away. With a swift motion, he lifted a column of water like a dragon, elevating their yacht and propelling it far away from the area enveloped by the formation.
Though Ma'erka and her companions were frightened, they were also filled with wonder. "That god seems to be helping us," they realized; it was clear that Jiang Chen did not intend to harm them.
"Is this what they call a battle between gods and demons?" The group buzzed with excitement, momentarily forgetting their peril.
"What kind of monster is that demon? It seems to have vanished! Look at the sky—why is it so red?"
"It's terrifying."
"We should be safe here; we can still see the sun."
As they spoke animatedly among themselves, everything seemed normal in their part of the sea—sunny and serene—but not far away, another area had turned dark red, resembling a hellish landscape that exuded an eerie atmosphere.
"Quick! Record this! If we post it online, it'll definitely go viral!" someone suggested.
Only then did they shakily pull out their phones to capture what was happening. Ma'erka did not join in; she stood frozen, staring ahead as memories of that face flooded her mind, causing her heart to race with uncontainable excitement.
The blood-red hue enveloped ten miles of sky like a layer of Blood Cloud stretching across above them. The clouds churned ominously, creating a terrifying scene that caught Jiang Chen's attention. To his surprise, within this vision lay an image reminiscent of an ancient war between Western gods and demons.
"It seems this place has sealed away an ancient Western demon; it must be the Blood Demon," Jiang Chen speculated.
The power of the Blood Demon was indeed formidable, but Jiang Chen could sense that his strength was being restrained. Although the formation drew upon some of the Blood Demon's power, it was not enough to instill fear.
In the sky, the Blood Cloud swirled, forming a vortex akin to a black hole. Suddenly, a massive demonic claw emerged from within. This claw resembled the hand of a deity or demon, swirling with demonic energy and crackling with purple lightning, as if it possessed the might to tear apart the heavens and earth.
