Monroe finally let out a sigh of relief, her eyes sparkling with a newfound hope. Since Jiang Chen was so powerful, why go through all the trouble? She could simply ask him for help in rescuing her parents.
As Jiang Chen returned, Monroe hurried to greet him. The Blood Ancestor glanced up at Jiang Chen and then took out a black token, about a foot long, tossing it to Jiang Chen while saying indifferently, "You won."
Jiang Chen caught the Divine Bone Order and smiled with satisfaction before putting it away. "I didn't expect such a powerful demon to be sealed down here. Are you trying to break the seal and release the demon?" he asked.
"That's none of your concern. Now that you have the Divine Bone Order, please leave. From now on, we won't interfere with each other," the Blood Ancestor replied coolly. Although he was reluctant to part with the Divine Bone Order, he had no choice; his trump card had failed against Jiang Chen, and he knew that continuing to fight would only bring him more trouble.
"What if I insist on getting involved?" Jiang Chen asked with a slight smile.
"Don't push your luck," the Blood Ancestor retorted angrily.
"What if I said I could break this seal and release the demon?" Jiang Chen laughed.
"Impossible! I've been trying to break this seal for hundreds of years without success. How could you, a Huaxia person, possibly do it?" The Blood Ancestor spoke without hesitation. While Jiang Chen's strength was indeed unfathomable, this seal was left by a deity. The Blood Ancestor had studied it for centuries without any results; how could someone like Jiang Chen easily break it?
"Haha, one day you'll believe me. But I won't break this seal now. When the time is right, I'll come back and do it," Jiang Chen said.
"Since you know that the Blood Demon is sealed inside, why would you want to help me?" The Blood Ancestor frowned. Jiang Chen didn't seem to be joking; he found it puzzling that releasing the Blood Demon would benefit Jiang Chen in any way.
"I'm not helping you; I'm helping myself," Jiang Chen replied with a meaningful smile. The properties of the Great Dao included blood attributes, making it perfect for cultivation with the Blood Demon.
The Blood Ancestor was baffled but didn't dwell on it too much. Whether Jiang Chen could break the seal was still uncertain, and once the Blood Demon was truly released, it would be out of Jiang Chen's control. Today's Blood Demon Suppression Formation only borrowed a fraction of the Blood Demon's power; Jiang Chen had no idea of its true strength, which was likely why he spoke so boldly.
"Let's talk about breaking the seal later. For now, please leave," the Blood Ancestor insisted.
"Why don't you send us back?" Jiang Chen smiled and glanced at Brower, who grimaced in frustration. If he had known this would be the outcome, he should have agreed to Jiang Chen's terms from the start instead of losing a hundred billion dollars for nothing.
"Mr. Jiang, I have something I want to ask of you," Monroe said as she tugged at Jiang Chen's sleeve, her voice soft and shy as she switched to using honorifics.
"Go ahead; what is it?" Jiang Chen replied gently with a smile.
"I'd like to ask you to help me plead with Brower. My parents are imprisoned in the blood clan's forbidden area; could you rescue them? If you can save them, I will repay you wholeheartedly," Monroe seized the opportunity to speak. She no longer doubted Jiang Chen's strength; even the Blood Ancestor had to give him face. Rescuing her parents should be an easy task for someone like him.
