He had thought that Jiang Chen would go to the Blood Clan to seize the Divine Bone Order, and he believed he could be of great help, which would give him some value as a servant. However, now that Jiang Chen had resolved the matter on his own, Jon Delson felt a sense of unease and disappointment. As a servant, the greatest fear was losing one's value. Jon did not want to become insignificant in Jiang Chen's eyes or be seen as having little worth.
"By the way, Jon, there’s something I need you to take care of," Jiang Chen said.
Upon hearing that Jiang Chen had a task for him, Jon Delson immediately perked up; it was time to prove his worth. Jiang Chen informed Jon about Ni Xingyi's upcoming personal fashion show in Paris and asked him to use his connections to invite some prominent figures to attend. Organizing such an event was a trivial matter for Jon.
On Saturday, after traveling through several countries with Jiang Lu and Qin Xusha, Jiang Chen arrived in Paris. Since Ni Xingyi's fashion show was scheduled for Sunday evening, they first went to meet her. Organizing this fashion show was no easy feat for Ni Xingyi; she was involved in every detail. When she saw Jiang Lu, she had her try on several outfits related to the theme of youth for rehearsal.
Jiang Chen had to admit that clothing could indeed enhance one's appearance. When Jiang Lu tried on those outfits, it caught his eye. Sitting in the audience, he watched as Jiang Lu walked down the runway. Initially, she was nervous and stiff, but after some guidance from Ni Xingyi, she found her rhythm and gradually became more comfortable.
Jiang Chen wasn't particularly interested in fashion, but he found himself appreciating the designs Ni Xingyi had created. They blended elements of Huaxia Hanfu and Tangzhuang styles. He planned to establish a Sect on Earth in the future and intended for Ni Xingyi to be responsible for designing its attire.
Suddenly, a sharp voice pierced through the atmosphere as a group of people strode into the venue.
"Wow, Ni Xingyi, I didn't expect you to be doing so poorly that you can't even afford professional models and have to settle for just anyone as your model. You really aren't worth much as a designer," said a flamboyantly dressed Huaxia woman in her thirties. Judging by her tone, it was clear that she did not have a good relationship with Ni Xingyi.
"Chen Chongchong, you're not welcome here. Please leave immediately," Ni Xingyi replied coldly upon seeing her.
The woman named Chen Chongchong was a former classmate of Ni Xingyi from their time at Saint Martin's School of Art and Design. Both were once prominent figures at school; however, while Ni Xingyi immersed herself in design, Chen Chongchong focused more on building her network. Coming from a slightly better family background than Ni Xingyi's, she often felt overshadowed by her.
Throughout their university years, they frequently competed against each other, with Chen Chongchong usually coming up short. This led her to harbor deep-seated resentment towards Ni Xingyi, viewing her as a thorn in her side. According to Chen Chongchong's perspective, there could only be one female Yellow Face remembered among the world's top designers—that would be her; Ni Xingyi did not qualify.
After graduation, Chen Chongchong leveraged her connections to break into the ranks of top designers and gained notoriety by frequently undermining Ni Xingyi. Upon learning that Ni Xingyi was holding a personal fashion show in Paris, she naturally sought to sabotage it. Deep down, Chen Chongchong knew that Ni Xingyi had design talent; thus, she was determined not to give her any opportunity for redemption.
