Sathorn Tower is a famous unfinished building in Bangkok.
This structure, which was supposed to be the most splendid and prestigious building in the heart of Bangkok, was halted midway due to funding withdrawal. Over time, it fell into disrepair and ultimately became a free location for film shoots.
The surrounding residents had long grown accustomed to the sounds of racing cars and gunfire emanating from Sathorn Tower, merely assuming that another film crew was at work inside. Little did they know that at this very moment, a real-life chase was unfolding within its walls.
Zhou Xiaxia felt the car she was in making sharp turns, rapidly ascending at a consistent angle before coming to an abrupt stop. If she hadn’t been pressed against Zhou Yinkun’s leg, she would likely have been thrown out since she wasn’t wearing a seatbelt.
As soon as the car stopped, the door swung open, and Xiaxia was pulled out by a large hand. She stumbled slightly but managed to regain her balance.
It was only when she took in the scene before her that her legs felt weak. They were surrounded by three black sedans, with the crumbling edge of the unfinished building behind them offering no cover. They were stuck on the 34th floor of the tower.
People began to exit the cars, and Zhou Xiaxia found one of them familiar. It was a face she had seen on the first floor during Tuo Sha's birthday banquet with Song En.
Sure enough, the last person to step out of the car was Tuo Sha, who was playing with a string of prayer beads.
“Tuo Sha Uncle, are you here for revenge?” Zhou Yinkun toyed with his gun. “Did you think sending your grandson away would allow you to deal with me?”
“Kun,” Tuo Sha replied with a smile, “you broke the rules first, didn’t you?”
At that moment, Zhou Yinkun and A Yao were surrounded by dozens of guns from Hong Wa Gang. Zhou Xiaxia didn’t want to be dragged into this mess; when she saw that Tuo Sha had noticed her too, her eyes filled with pleading.
Tuo Sha waved his hand dismissively. “It’s not Xiaxia’s fault; let’s go.”
Zhou Yinkun didn’t care about rules, but Tuo Sha had been in this world for many years and had never broken them. Moreover, Zhou Xiaxia was Zhou Yaohui’s daughter; if anything happened to her, it would complicate matters with Zhou Yaohui and Sai Peng.
Zhou Xiaxia felt immense gratitude. Just as she thought they could leave, someone grabbed her wrist. She flinched and looked up at the man beside her.
Zhou Yinkun smiled charmingly. “Little niece, we should face this together as uncle and niece. Isn’t that what your parents taught you? When it comes to life and death, do you sell out your uncle to save yourself?”
“It was you...” Zhou Xiaxia couldn’t bear to meet his gaze. As she struggled to free herself from his grip, she whispered, “You hurt Song En first...”
At that moment, Zhou Yinkun pulled her close, and Zhou Xiaxia found herself pressed against him. The man leaned down, his voice low as he whispered in her ear, "Think carefully and understand the situation before making a decision."
Situation? Zhou Xiaxia was confused.
Just then, a few gasps were heard, and Zhou Xiaxia turned toward the sound, her eyes widening in shock.
Unbeknownst to her, a red dot had appeared on Tuo Sha's forehead.
Moreover, all the black-clad men surrounding them also had red dots on their foreheads and chests. That meant... Zhou Xiaxia quickly glanced outside; there were snipers around, and not just a few.
Seeing Zhou Xiaxia's incredulous expression, Zhou Yinkun found it amusing. How could one person wear all their emotions and thoughts on their face? She clearly had no understanding of disguise or concealment.
He raised his hand and pinched Zhou Xiaxia's face. "Are you leaving or not?"
Zhou Xiaxia understood that if she said she wanted to leave, another red dot would appear on her head immediately. With tears welling in her eyes, she shook her head.
Her pitiful look made Zhou Yinkun want to give her a bone to chew on.
"Tuo Sha, what should we do now? You chased me all the way to my territory to kill me; as your junior, I should be allowed to fight back, right?"
Zhou Yinkun stepped in front of Tuo Sha and provocatively poked his temple with the gun barrel. "Don't worry, Uncle. After you die, I'll have someone neatly cut you into pieces and arrange them on a plate. When your dear grandson comes back to pay his respects, I'll chop off one of his hands and send it along to accompany you in the afterlife."
Tuo Sha had experienced countless scenes like this when he was younger.
But looking at Zhou Yinkun now, he realized he had underestimated him. After being ambushed on the road, he had pretended to be outmatched to lure them here; the snipers were not a last-minute arrangement but had likely been there all along. Zhou Yinkun had spent many years dealing in arms and security; it wasn't for nothing. In Bangkok—and indeed throughout Thailand—there were bound to be many such locations.
That was why he dared to flaunt himself with only A Yao by his side; Zhou Yinkun was visible while his weapons remained hidden.
In an instant, the situation flipped, and Tuo Sha realized he had misjudged him. Zhou Yinkun's actions and demeanor resembled that of a madman—anyone watching would think him impulsive and reckless. But if that were truly the case, he would have been assassinated countless times by now.
Despite the gun pressed against his head, Tuo Sha remained calm.
Having lived a life on the edge, it was inevitable that this day would come. For someone like him, who had spent years with his life literally on the line, accepting such a fate was almost a relief.
Zhou Yinkun noticed Tuo Sha's composed demeanor and his silence as he closed his eyes. With a disdainful scoff, he lowered his gun and approached.
Zhou Xiaxia saw him casually raise his hand as if to make a move. Just then, the sound of several approaching vehicles interrupted them, causing Zhou Yinkun to pause.
The headlights illuminated their surroundings brightly, prompting Xiaxia to shield her eyes. Then she heard a familiar voice filled with anger: "Zhou Yinkun."
"Dad!"
Seeing Zhou Yaohui, Zhou Xiaxia rushed towards him, but as she passed by the terrifying man, he grabbed her by the nape of her neck. She struggled helplessly, "Let go of me!"
Zhou Yinkun raised an eyebrow; with Zhou Yaohui's arrival, Zhou Xiaxia seemed to have gained a bit more courage.
Right in front of Zhou Yaohui, his hand slid down along the girl's pale neck and over her slender back, finally resting on Zhou Xiaxia's waist. The edge of her clothing concealed his fingers, making it appear as though he had slipped his hand beneath her shirt.
Zhou Yaohui's expression darkened to an extreme.
Yet Zhou Yinkun added nonchalantly, "Brother, I'd like to keep your daughter around for some fun. Can you send her my way?"
