With a single shot, the wings of the Mechanical Bat were shattered, rendering it unable to fly and turning it into scrap. Generally speaking, neither the Master Mechanic nor the Mechanical Beast had the capability to seriously injure one another with a single blow; after all, they were both mechanical beings. In situations where the Energy Core levels were low, battles between them resembled two children squabbling, with minimal damage inflicted that required accumulation to become significant.
Cai Huan's performance led the other members of the Squad to speculate about his innate ability, which seemed to enhance his Level Energy Intensity. There was no intention to mock; it was simply a bit disappointing. The Mechanical Beasts from the north plunged the Squad into fierce combat. These Mechanical Beasts had a habit of never engaging in gunplay; even though they possessed ranged attack capabilities, they preferred to bombard while charging forward. Their goal was to completely crush any Human Mech in their path. Once caught in their jaws, the consequences were dire.
However, with Wan Hao and Wang Keke leading the charge—both equipped with defensive talents—their presence provided ample space for the mechs behind them to unleash devastating firepower. A Mechanical Giant Rhino charged forward with a triple-barreled cannon mounted on its back, bombarding Lu Ziye and the Squad while pushing forward but was effectively blocked by the front line.
If not for such strength, Wan Hao would not have easily allowed the Squad to confront the leading Mechanical Beast; he had combat experience and confidence in their abilities. The Red Army continued to wave their weapons in front lines as the Gatling Cannon fired almost non-stop. Cai Huan picked off targets from behind with precision, causing one Mechanical Beast after another to fall.
This battle continued for hours until the Squad cleared all monsters within a kilometer range and took a moment to rest. In those two hours, they had slain numerous Mechanical Beasts, each member earning a Soul Crystal and an Energy Progress bar; of course, Lu Ziye gained an increase in attack speed as well.
This meant that now Lu Ziye's Blood Cry Army could achieve attacks in seconds with their Gatling Cannon and Fa Miao. However, this slight change went unnoticed among these high-level elites.
The cockpit of the mech was spacious, filled with various supplies. The Squad members chatted while sipping drinks and munching on convenient snacks. Yet as soon as conversation began, it took an odd turn.
Liu Xin'er remarked, "After fighting for hours and only gaining this much Energy Progress? Even if we fought all day long, we wouldn't level up! We're all Legendary Talents here; this pace is indeed too slow—it's even worse than those other Legendary Talent Squads."
Wan Hao replied, "We can't say that. We were brought together for a reason; everyone knows why. Plus, accumulating combat experience is extremely important—an excellent Mechanic isn’t forged without some grinding. We have a long way to go, and this place is perfect for us to hone our teamwork. If our leveling is slow, it really doesn’t matter."
"I also think there's no need to rush," said Squad Cai Yan.
Liu Xin'er from Team Wang Keke added, "What Liu Xin'er said makes sense. Of course, we aren't complaining about anyone. The atmosphere in our squad is just fine; we're just discussing things. Who knows, maybe our squad will be more efficient this way."
Lu Ziye smiled slightly, reading between the lines: they simply wanted to leave the team and go solo, but since the formation of this team was at the behest of Commander Qiu, which was meant to create a top-notch environment for themselves, they didn't dare to leave.
These two girls meant no harm; they just wanted to level up faster. However, having no malicious intent didn't mean they were innocent. Lu Ziye wasn't the type to cling desperately to others. If necessary, he could always find the weakest Mechanical Beasts and take his time defeating them.
Lu Ziye thought to himself, he owed no one anything.
"Actually," Lu Ziye said, "I believe that with Liu Xin'er as a frontliner and Wang Keke as a Hundredfold Attack Speed Raider, the two of you working together would be more efficient. Dealing with Level Mechanical Beasts below level ten shouldn't be a problem, and your kill efficiency wouldn't be slow either. Captain, I suggest that those who want to stay can stay, and those who want to level up on their own can do so. There's really no need to force everyone together."
His words flustered Liu Xin'er and Wang Keke; their thoughts had been exposed. If this got back to Commander Qiu, it would be troublesome.
"Brother Lu," Liu Xin'er said quickly, "it's really not what you think. We mean no harm."
