In the Blue Zone Joint Command Center, the Mission Hall is bustling with Mechanics from various nations. Here, one can take on missions ranging from the most challenging Mechanical Lord exploration tasks to daily hunts of Mechanical Beasts, all aimed at helping humanity solidify its current foothold.
Unlike the Gray Zone, where most operations are centrally coordinated—since it serves as humanity's International Headquarters and produces the High Carbon Alloy essential for survival—the Blue Zone functions more like a forward base, nurturing exceptional Mechanics with broader ambitions. Therefore, in the absence of a Beast Tide outbreak, most of the time here is spent voluntarily accepting missions, allowing for greater freedom.
Similarly, the Purple Zone and Red Zone operate under this management model, while little is known about the Black Zone, which stands as a solitary base; it's unclear what humanity's strongest forces are doing there.
Upon entering the Mission Hall, Lu Ziye's mech automatically connected to the Mission System, enabling him to select tasks. Initially, he wondered why he couldn't directly connect his mech to accept missions at any time. He later realized that this setup allowed him to observe his teammates; if he was dissatisfied with them, he could quickly switch tasks.
Currently, participation in lord-level missions requires individuals to be elite among elites. Each participant must come from different countries to prevent collusion that could compromise fairness. After pondering for a moment, Lu Ziye chose a Mechanical Lord mission. Given his current rank, he couldn't select a task that was too low-level; otherwise, he risked missing out on speed and efficiency gains.
After a few minutes of waiting, Lu Ziye's squad was finally assembled. The squad consisted of several members: besides Lu Ziye himself, there was Mo Sang from A San Country, a Roarer Mecha Mechanic; Bob from Eagle Sauce Nation, a Guardian-Type Mecha Mechanic; and Xiao Bi Zai Zai Zi from Sakura Kingdom, also a Guardian-Type Mecha Mechanic.
Lu Ziye couldn't help but chuckle inwardly; all these mechanics hailed from unfriendly nations, ensuring that the journey would not be dull. However, he wasn't concerned—these Mechanics were only slightly above his level and posed no real threat. If he couldn't handle a squad of this caliber as a Master Mechanic, then his Level Mechanism Soul awakening would have been for nothing. He hoped they would recognize their situation and understand that the advantage lay with him.
The group set up a temporary Squad Channel for communication. Bob took charge of creating it; regardless of where he went, he liked to assume leadership and direct others. Strangely enough, before they departed, Bob deliberately excluded Lu Ziye from the group chat to establish his authority over this Dragon Kingdom Mechanic.
Little did Bob know that Lu Ziye completely ignored him and instead roared off toward the mission coordinates with his engines blazing. Why waste time communicating with a bunch of fools when he could simply slay monsters? As Lu Ziye soared into the sky, the sound barrier rippled around him, leaving the others staring at each other in disbelief.
"Is this guy a bit too arrogant? How dare he ignore us?"
"Isn't that typical of the Dragon Kingdom Mechanics? Small stature, big temper."
"Alright, enough talk. Let's catch up. Just watch my eyes. I can see from the Mission System that this guy is taking on a task for the first time. He probably thinks dealing with the Mechanical Lord is as easy as handling an Ordinary Mechanical Beast. Let's show him what he's in for. When he’s down on his knees begging us for help, he’ll understand why Zheng Er is so famous."
The three of them chuckled ominously as they soared through the air, racing toward the mission coordinates.
