"President Zhou, are you curious about my background? Are you planning to take revenge?" Lin Yin smiled.
"I'm just curious. If you don't want to say, I won't force you," Zhou Zhi replied calmly.
"President Zhou, as a senior, if you ask me about myself, I will naturally tell you. My name is Lin Yin, and I'm from Nangang City in Southeast Province. I grew up in an orphanage. What else do you want to know?" Lin Yin said with a smile.
"You're not from the Hidden Sect?" Zhou Zhi asked, somewhat incredulous.
"I'm not from the Hidden Sect, nor is my master. We're just ordinary people who keep a low profile. If your granddaughter hadn't insisted on sparring with me, I wouldn't have bothered to engage. If someone wants to challenge me, they should at least be at the Master of Transformation level," Lin Yin chuckled.
"Hiss!" Upon hearing Lin Yin's words, everyone present gasped in surprise, looking at her as if they had seen a ghost. While Lin Yin had indeed astonished them earlier, they had only compared her to Inner Energy martial artists. Now, she was claiming she could spar with a Master of Transformation, which was simply hard to accept.
There were only a handful of Masters of Transformation recognized by the National Wushu Association—just over ten—and most of them were elderly men. For a young girl like Lin Yin, who had just turned twenty this year, to dismiss the Masters of Transformation was quite audacious.
"You’re quite interesting, young lady. Do you know what being a Master of Transformation represents?" Zhou Zhi asked with a hint of amusement. After all, he was a senior and wouldn't lose his composure over Lin Yin's words.
"To me, being a Master of Transformation is barely scratching the surface; it doesn't represent much at all. President Zhou, how about we have a friendly spar?" Lin Yin suggested with a smile. Since she had begun her training in Qi cultivation, her strength had increased significantly. She rarely had the chance to spar with experts outside of Huafei Villa and Quiet Villa, so she didn't want to miss this opportunity.
Zhou Zhi's expression darkened; he found himself in a difficult position. Given his status, how could he personally spar with a young girl? Regardless of the outcome, it would bring him no benefit.
"You’re quite bold for such a young girl. However, if you want to spar with me, you'll need at least ten years of training first. Maybe then you'll have the qualifications to challenge me," Zhou Zhi said coolly, maintaining his aloof demeanor.
"President Zhou, to be honest, ten years from now, I won't even bother looking at you; how could I possibly want to spar with you?" Lin Yin laughed lightly.
"You're quite arrogant," Zhou Zhi said, somewhat annoyed.
The other Presidents of the Martial Arts Association also frowned in displeasure. Lin Yin's words not only belittled Zhou Zhi but also disrespected them collectively.
"President Zhou, whether I'm being arrogant or not can be determined through a sparring match. Are you afraid that fighting with someone younger might tarnish your reputation?" Lin Yin teased.
"How about it, Old Zhou? Why don’t you spar with Miss Lin?" Liu Chaowu suggested slyly after glancing at Jiang Chen. Seeing that Jiang Chen did not stop Lin Yin indicated approval. Liu Chaowu was curious about his disciple's abilities but did not want to embarrass himself in public by sparring with Lin Yin directly. Since Zhou Zhi's strength was comparable to his own, it seemed like a good idea for him to test Lin Yin’s skills.
Zhou Zhi shot Liu Chaowu an annoyed look.
"I don't want to bully a young girl. Old Liu, since this girl is under your guidance and enjoys sparring so much, why don’t you play along? It wouldn’t be good for us outsiders to hurt her. Besides, I’ve always thought your strength surpasses mine; I wouldn’t want to embarrass myself," Zhou Zhi retorted, feeling that Liu Chaowu had ulterior motives.
